Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father....our Father, Creator

In Jesus, the Messiah....our Savior and Lord
and in
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.

We believe that God made the heavens, the earth, and all creatures therein.

And that He forgives us of our sins.

God has given all creatures His son, Jesus, who died on a cross and arose from the dead.

We believe Jesus went to heaven and is now seated at God’s right hand.

Jesus' death and resurrection has given us the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life.
God has given us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man who was crucified, was raised from the dead by God!

Jesus has now become the cornerstone.

"There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 4: 10 - 12

Holy Bible New Living Translation

" For no one can build any foundation than this one we already have - Jesus Christ."

1 Corinthians 3: 11

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created the heavens and the earth.  He lovingly forgives our sins.  God gave us His Son, Jesus, who died on a cross, and arose from the dead.  Jesus now sits at the right hand of God.  He is the Messiah, our Savior.  He can be our Lord, if we believe in him and accept him.  He gave us the opportunity to receive eternal life.  When Jesus went to heaven, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach, and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) into your life to receive all they have to give you, and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Jesus, please come into my life, heal me, and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you, to love you as you love me, so I can love others, and, so I can love myself.  Holy Spirit, please fill me to overflowing with all the fruits and the gifts you have to give me to help me grow in Christ Jesus and be able to share the Trinity with others.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus' name I pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, or one from your heart, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow, and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  We hope to have a special page for this purpose.  We now have a page where you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together praying as a body of believers, for Jesus said, ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who God calls ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’ But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us this “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

   Which Is THE One?

Isaiah 26:19

Yet we have this assurance:  Those who belong to God will live; Their bodies will rise again!  Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy!  For God's light of life will fall like dew on his people in the place of the dead!

Let's talk about the resurrection of Jesus.

For over 2000 years people have focused on Jesus' resurrection.  In fact, it stands as the fulfilment of the promise of eternity for all who believe.

But which resurrection?  Which resurrection counted?  Could we have missed it entirely?

Did your head do a little back and forth, your eyes jiggle and your brain go 'What?!?'  Sorry about that

I did say, 'Which' resurrection.

Now, I'm asking you, which one counted as THE resurrection?

Get your Bibles ready....we're going to take a stroll with Jesus as he journeyed.

Ready?  OK.

In Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John....Jesus died on a cross....believing God would save him.  He did, but Jesus wasn't feeling it in that moment.  He even asked God why he had forsaken him.  And he told one of the thieves crucified next to him that indeed that day, he would be with him in paradise.

Was he resurrected here?

After Jesus died, his body was removed from the cross and placed in a tomb, cave, hole in an embankment, grave.

At this point, we presume his soul went to heaven.  Don't we all go directly to heaven when we die?  That's another study for another day.

Not long after he/his body was placed in the entombment, he/his body 'mysteriously' vanishes.  Many 'theories' on this.

Was he resurrected here?

What we do know [do we?] is that 3 days [????] after being 'mysteriously gone', he appears to Mary Magdalene, and others, and told them not to cling to him because he had NOT ascended to the Father, meaning God.  [Is ascension a/the resurrection?]

Was he resurrected here?

Was he holographic....in spirit form....or a body?

Of interest to note is that those clinging, after realizing he was Jesus, had not recognized him at first.  Another presumptions is that he had not been recognized because he was so disfigured from taking on the sins of the world having been to hell.

Did he save folks in hell?  Hmmm....another story for another day.  The grave DID open....just sayin'.

Then Jesus 'took off' again.

Was he resurrected here?

He met folks on the road to Damascus.  He 'aphantosed'.

Was he resurrected here?

Then he trips around presumably in between the upper room and Bethany.

Was he resurrected here?

Did you make note that he ATE after...AFTER....he died?  Truly, he did!

Or did he trip around after his Bethany send off?  Hmmm....another study?

When he shows up with the gang again, he tells 'doubting' Thomas to touch the wounds in his hands!  So, AHA!  He's apparently been to the Father....finally....in heaven....because remember....earlier he couldn't be touched because he hadn't arisen to the Father.  Before Bethany?

Check it out....then....he leads folks to Bethany.  And he arises to heaven.

Was he resurrected?  Or did he 'just' ascend?

Did he trip back after Bethany to walk on water, etc.?  And how could he have done that after he died....hmmm....another study?

Was he resurrected here....after all those visits .....or....back and forth between each one?

Which resurrection COUNTED?

Does it matter?

I heard that....someone said, "Say WHAT?!?"

Was he reincarnated?  Yup, I said that.  Can we be?  Whatever that is.

Or will he always be a 'free Spirit'?

Is he now THE Holy Spirit?  Or is Holy Spirit a real 3rd figurehead?  Or just God's spirit floating around, entering in?  Hmmm....another study for yet another day?  Maybe.

So these 'Thoughts' are to encourage you to spend some time taking a journey with Jesus....and God....and Holy Spirit....to learn the truths God, Jesus, Holy Spirit wanted/wants us to know....and spend some time with them.

They are NOT any specific definitive belief system I have or subscribe to other than the TRUTH of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He WAS resurrected.  That is the foundational truth given us all as the promise, after the hope, for a tomorrow of eternal life in Heaven with him after death.

Praise God he created Jesus and dedicated him to us.  Praise Jesus for being willing to show us, by being a living and dying example, how to believe, and live, to attain resurrection to eternal life.  Praise Holy Spirit for keeping him alive in us and all of us together....hopefully.

Those who receive the free gift of eternal life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, have the promise that the creation will be restored to it's original 'very good' state.  From the www.

[Really?  Creation will be restored to it's 'original' 'very good' state?  When might that have been?]

Jesus lives IN us through the Holy Spirit.  Jesus rose from the dead to give us hope in this life.  Jesus spoke to spirits from the time of Noah.  From the www.

[Who were those spirits Jesus spoke to besides Noah and the animals through his existence to his death and resurrection....etc.?  Yes....another study it looks like.]

After Jesus rose from the dead, he did not die a second time.  Instead 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus left the earth by being taken up, body and soul, to Heaven to rejoin God the Father.  This was called the ascension and was witnessed by Jesus' 11 remaining apostles.  From the www.

[Are we sure of this....that he did not die a second time....that it was 40 days, and was 40 a significant number for any reason....that this was the only ascension....or was it a resurrection.....and that it was witnessed by only the 11....Hmmm????]

John 20 - 3 days later His body and Spirit were reunited and He rose from the dead.

'Says Jesus was with his disciples for 40 days after the resurrection encouraging them, instructing them, guiding them.

[Ok....he did, but was it really after THE resurrection....or was there more than one?  40 days? Not 40 nights, too?]

More....Acts 3:21; Romans 8:20-22; Romans 8:11, John 10:38; Peter 3.

Matthew 27:32-28:20

Mark 15:21-16:20

Luke 23:26-24:53

John 19:16-21:25

From Oxford Language: Resurrection comes from Anglo French. Resurreccioun.  Originally referred to the rising of Christ from the dead.

From Merriam Webster dictionary: 1. The rising of Christ from the dead.  2.  The rising again to life of all human dead before the final judgement.  3.  The state of one risen from the dead.

From Cambridge English Dictionary: Resurrection: the act or fact of bringing someone back to life, or bringing something back to use or existence.

From Bible Study Tools: Resurrection - dead person coming back to life.  Literally means to rise up or stand up - means one's eternity is sealed in Jesus.

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, teach us, lead us, guide us into all your truths.  Help us to not rely on what someone tells us, but spend time with you and your Word to know your truths that we need to hear....for your sake....and ours.  Keep us humble, focused, healthy, and going forward WITH you, until that day when we will meet....again.  Carry us when we need to be carried.  Embrace us when we need you to do that.  And help us to listen when you need us to hear you.  Equally important....help us to respect you in the faces and hearts of others.  We praise you!  We love you!  We thank you!  Amen.

  One last thing....

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.  I encourage you to pray your own prayers as well.

NOTE:  I said it long ago, but let me say it again.  If you are wanting to lead a group, start a church, or are confined in an institution, or live in a country where the Gospel is not preached, and you don't know what to say or how to say it, and yet feel led to share, teach, or preach, besides just reading straight out of the Bible and sharing what God puts on your heart, please feel free to share any or all of what I've written, if it will help you, as long as you include where it comes from, due to copyright laws.  Jesus gave God's love and healing freely, as well as his message.  Our responsibility is to get the Word out to those who need to hear it.  If what I've written....by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit....or what he has said through me....has helped you, it may help others that you know.  You are welcome to share it.  God calls all of us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  Please share it with the fullness of love that God, Jesus, Holy Spirit....and I....have given it.  Amen!
