Indifference vs Victory 

Revelation 3: 19b-22

Revelation

Be diligent and turn from your indifference.

"Look!  Here I stand at the door and knock.  If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends.  I will invite everyone who is victorious to sit with me on my throne

Thoughts....

Evil makes every attempt to overtake good. 

Who was it that said "If we ain't for 'em, we' ag'in 'em." 

In Revelation 3:15-16, Jesus makes reference that we can't sit on the fence, we need to declare either hot or cold.  If we're cold, we belong to Satan's team.  If we are hot, we belong to God's team....the good team. 

Let's look at Jesus' encounter with Satan in Mathew 4:4 where he was tempted 40 days and 40 nights to turn from God.  Satan recognized the power Jesus could yield were he under his, Satan's, command, and wanted him on his team. 

Jesus rebuked Satan the 1rst time, letting him know people must feed on every word of God.  The 2nd time, Jesus told Satan, do not test the Lord your God.  The 3rd time, Jesus was point blank clear when he told him, "God out of here, Satan. for the Scriptures say, "You must worship the LORD your God; serve only him."  Interesting that Jesus kept saying "The Lord your God", recognizing that God made Satan, too, and maybe was attempting to remind Satan where his allegiance SHOULD be.

This is for a new Christian or anywhere along the journey.  Jesus tells us how to battle Satan.  1.  Get out your Bible and read the Word of God so you know what you are supposed to be doing.  2.  Don't do things that you know are not something that he would want you to do....that's testing him to see if he is true.  He is.  You are the one being tested to see if you are true to him.  3.  And finally, plain old rebuke Satan and stop him in his tracks.  This let's God, Jesus, Holy Spirit know you are for them, and, let's Satan know you are against him.

Can human battles with countries, or within us, against Satan be fought spiritually through feeding on the word of God and worshiping the LORD our God, and rebuking Satan....and his assigns?

YES!  Every battle in the world....and yours. 

Moses and Joshua won when Moses' arms were raised to God in prayer, praise, honor, and in request for victory....believing!  But be aware, others helped keep his arms raised!  Aaron and Hur helped him.  See Exodus 17:9-13.  WE have Jesus and Holy Spirit to help us in prayer to God for victory!

Reread today's reference again at the start of this 'Thought'.  Pick up your cross - go forward into battle with God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  Raise your arms in praise, believing in victory, regardless of the battle that surrounds you, or is within you.  

ONWARD, Christian Soldier!

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, perfect timing for this, thank you, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  The world is not at peace, my individual world is not at peace.  Many in the world are experiencing trauma, pain, unrest, disrespect, suffering, plain old evil.  I am grateful, that I, and others who read this, are reminded of who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are today....and everyday.  Thank you for being there, listening, helping, and giving all of us the best steps to take to defeat Satan.  I praise you.  I thank you.  I love you.   Amen.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."
