Resurrection Work
John 20:1-18

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. she ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, "They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!"
Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side. Then the other disciple also went in, and he saw and believed - for until then they hadn't realized that the Scriptures said he would rise from the dead. Then they went home.
Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stopped and looked in. She saw two white-robed angels sitting at the head and foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying. "Why are you crying?" the angels asked her.
"Because they have taken away my Lord, " she replied, "and I don't know where they have put him."
She glanced over her shoulder and saw someone standing behind her. It was Jesus, but she didn't recognize him. "Why are you crying?" Jesus asked her. "Who are you looking for?"
She thought he was the gardener. "Sir," she said, "if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him."
"Mary!" Jesus said.
She turned toward him and exclaimed, "Teacher!"
"Don't cling to me, "Jesus said, "for I haven't yet ascended to the Father. But go find my bothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, my God and your God."
Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, "I have seen the Lord!" Then she gave them his message.

Thoughts....
Are you recognizable? To yourself, your family, your friends, your Lord? Look around you. Would the world recognize you by how you live your life? Would your Lord and Savior Jesus recognize you?
Jesus resurrected and Mary did not recognize him at first.
Do you need a resurrection moment?
How do you view the world?
Should you be the change you need to see in the world?
Maybe it's time for you to put in some resurrection work.
Are you living your life as you should be? Are you loving your neighbor as yourself?
In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus said, "'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: "Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."
Jesus had to die to rise, again, and again, and again before his resurrection work was done.
He knows us, knows our hearts. He knows we are not perfect. He, too, had to tie up some loose ends a few times before he got it right. But at least he started.
Where are you on your resurrection journey? Where do you need to be?
Maybe this time, you'll get the trying part out of the way and get it right. Maybe I will, too.
I'll be praying for you. Please pray for me, too, will you?
He's got the whole world in his hands....make sure he doesn't pitch you to get hit out of the park. Better to be caught in his mitt.

Let Us Pray
God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I haven't loved you with my whole heart, my soul, nor my mind. Please forgive me. Heal me in all the ways I need to be healed. Help me have a resurrection moment, or two....or so, so that I will have an eternal resurrection into your arms when it's time....on my last day on earth. May it not be soon, just sayin'....please. Help me put in the work I n e e d to achieve that. Give me your strength, keep me committed, carry me when I need you. Help me not fall...at least too hard, as I grow again....more....faithfully. I know you know about having a hard life. I'm sorry I am making your life harder....oh that others and myself would make my life so hard. You depend on me, so do others. Help me to be my best self for you and them. Help me every step and breath of the way. You never said life would be easy. But it will be worthwhile if I can make it into your arms, healed and made whole, and be with all my loved ones again. AND be the change that needs to occur in the world. Oh, what a world it's been. Thank you for your love and faithfulness to ensure Joseph R Biden, Jr. became the President of the United States of America. The volume has been turned down on the universe....and peace is arising....slowly....but I believe surely. Keep Joe in great health, and Jill, and Kamala and Doug. Lots of work yet to do in the world, but may the United States of America be able to be a respected country in the world again. So much work to be done worldwide from all countries. God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, be with us all, as we all start to put in resurrection work. I thank you I praise you. I love you. Amen.
