Look up to the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away.

O Israel, how can you say the LORD does not see your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case? Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know that the LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

'What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith.' Hebrews 11:1-2

Last week we learned, 'Then Jesus said to the disciples, "Have faith in God. I assure you that you can say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and do not doubt in your heart. Listen to me! You can pray for anything and if you BELIEVE, you will have it. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. Mark 11:22-25

'Sing a new song to the LORD, for he has done wonderful deeds. He has won a mighty victory by his power and holiness.' Psalm 98:1

In 2 Chronicles 20 it reads, 'This is what the LORD [God] says: "Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's.'

'Tomorrow, march out against them.' 'But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD's victory. He is with you.' 'Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out there tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!' 2 Chronicles 20:13b-17.

It does not matter what your battle is. It does not matter that Scripture shows directives are to a King and the people of Judah and Jerusalem. It matters that THE LORD gave a path to win whatever battle you are struggling against.

So, tomorrow, go out of your house, march around it, literally. Or around the block, or around the building you are living in or working in. Then, take your position, and stand still. Watch the LORD's victory. He is/will be with you. Are you in a spiritual battle? Yes, if things are not going right in your life. Will the Lord help you win? No. You don't have to battle, remember? It's the LORD's battle. HE WILL win it FOR you....with you....as you stand still and believe.

It goes on to read in 2 Chronicles 20, 'Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.'

Simeon was a prophet, a righteous man and was very devout, per Luke 2:25-35. He was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he eagerly expected the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the Baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, "Lord, now I can die in peace! As you promised me, I have seen the Savior you have given to all [Say ALL] people. He is [Say IS] a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is [Say IS] the glory of your people Israel!"

Joseph and Mary were amazed at was being said about Jesus. Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, "This child will be rejected by many in Israel, and it will be their undoing. But he will be the greatest joy to many others. Thus, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul."

Will Jesus be your greatest joy, or will he be your undoing? What are your deepest thoughts?

Do you remember Anna, the prophet, who worshiped God in the Temple day and night with fasting and prayer? She talked about Jesus day and night to everyone who had been waiting for the promised King to come. Her story is in Luke 2, also.

Are you talking about Jesus day and night? I'm not. I should be. So should you. I also don't worship and pray day and night with fasting. You?

What about John the Baptist, who went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching that people should be baptized to show that they had turned from their sins and turn to God to be forgiven? Do you remember him? Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: 'Prepare a pathway for he Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills! Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places! And then all people will [Say 'WILL'] see the salvation sent from God.'"

John went on to say, "Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God."

Have you turned from your sins and turned to God? Any proof 'in the pudding' by the way you live?

The crowd asked John what they should do to prevent being thrown into the fire. He replied, "If you have two coats, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry." Even corrupt tax collectors came to be baptized and asked, "Teacher, what should we do?"

"Show your honesty," he replied. "Make sure you collect no more taxes than the Roman government requires you to."'

John replied, "Don't extort money, and don't accuse people of things you know they didn't do. And be content with your pay."

Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and they were eager to know whether John might be the Messiah. John answered their questions by saying, "I baptize with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am - so much greater that I am not even worthy to be his slave. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the grain in his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire." Read what Jesus said about this in John 15.

You have learned to stand firm and wait. But the waiting is over. You don't have to wait anymore. Jesus came, he died....for you....and he went to Heaven....so you can, too.

Winning isn't just about letting God win the battle. It's about being a partner with him by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. It's about asking Holy Spirit into your life, so you can know the right paths to take, so you can rise to new heights. So you can reach the stars....so you can go to heaven, too.

Winning isn't just about winning the battles in your life, but about winning THE battle against Satan to ensure you receive eternal life in heaven. And the ability to share who Jesus is, that he is, and how wonderful he is with others. And by living your life as an example, giving testimony to He, who created you - God; He ,who died for you to give you the opportunity for eternal life - Jesus; and He who shows you how to walk daily to ensure you are on the right path....if you listen....and walk the walk - Holy Spirit.

And when you do this, it will show others God's love from within you. It will be a moment in time, hopefully many moments in time, to be a part of building a brotherhood/sisterhood of the people....for the people....by the people.

God gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the LORD will [Say WILL] find new strength. They will [Say WILL] fly high on wings like eagles. They will [Say WILL] run and not grow weary. They will [Say WILL] walk and not faint.

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, help us all! In your Holy Name, you have made us one - equal - having many parts, but all one body. Help us, Lord, to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. And guide our hearts and minds to vote for the only person, so named, Joseph Biden, who will help bring America into being whole as he leads, praying, WITH you at the helm, for a nation raised from it's roots in your Holy Name, while you heal us all. Help us be mindful and purposeful in our attempts to do "Good Trouble" as we "Reach Out" in equality. Lord God, we have so many mountains to move of varying heights and demands. Be in the valleys with us as we begin to climb, and continue to ascend dizzying heights. Help us to believe....in you, and that we CAN move mountains, especially those that get in the way of being one with you. And help us to show others by how we live that you are in us and need to be in all of us. The battle is yours, LORD GOD. Let's win this....together! Heavenly Father God, in Jesus' name, may we ALL pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit. May we all praise you, and thank you, and love you. Amen.

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
