    Tell Them....Teach Them....Share Him...Embrace Jesus

Acts 28: 23-29

Acts

So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul's house.  He told them about the Kingdom of God and taught them about Jesus from the Scriptures - from the five books of Moses and the books of the prophets.  He began lecturing in the morning, and went on into the evening.  Some believed and some didn't.  But after they had argued back and forth among themselves, they left with this final word from Paul: the Holy Spirit was right when he said to our ancestors through Isaiah the prophet,

'Go and say to my people,

you will hear my words,

but you will not understand;

you will see what I do,

but you will not perceive its meaning.

For the hearts of these people are hardened,

and their ears cannot hear,

and they have closed their eyes -

so their eyes cannot see,

and their ears cannot hear,

and their hearts cannot understand,

and they cannot turn to me

and let me heal them.'

So I want you to realize that this salvation from God is also available to the Gentiles, and they will accept it."

 Thoughts....

1.  Set a time to begin to tell the Gospel message.

2. Tell about the kingdom of God.

3.  Teach from the Scriptures.  Start with the 5 books of Moses and the books of the Prophets. Then add the NEW Testament.

4.  Tell the whole story - no matter how long it takes.

5.  Expect argument.

6.  Be prepared to provide more truths from the Word.

7.  Share that Holy sSirit was right when he spoke to our ancestors through Isaiah the prophet in Isaiah 6:9-10, that,

hearts will be hardened and cannot understand.  Acts 28:26-27.

8.  Share also that Holy Spirit also was right when he told Isaiah regarding John the Baptist who led people to Jesus stating:

"He is a voice shouting in the wilderness:

'Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming!

make a straight road for him!

fill in the valleys,

and level the mountains and hills!

Straighten the curves,

and smooth out the rough places!

And then all people will see the salvation sent from God,'"  Luke 3:4-6

9.  Also share that Holy Spirit was also right when he spoke to Isaiah, and which Jesus himself confirmed when he read the scroll

in his boyhood church,

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor.

he has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,

that the blind will see,

that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors,

and that the time of the Lord's favor has come."  Luke 4:18-19

Which is also true for us everyday as appointed by God.

10.  And share, too, God spoke affirming and confirming Jesus as his son, when he said from a cloud,

"This is my Son, my Chosen One.  Listen to him." Luke 9:35

11.  And as was told to and by Isaiah 53:3 about the Messiah to come:

"He was despised and rejected - a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief.

We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by.  He was despised and we did not care. "

12.  The same man spoken about by Isaiah, is the same man spoken about by Peter in Acts 4:11 and David in Psalms 118:22.

"The stone that you builders rejected has now become the corner stone."  He is Jesus.

13.  And Jesus himself stated, "For I, the Son of Man, must suffer terrible things.

I will be rejected by the leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law.

I will be killed, but three days later, I will be raised from the dead."  Luke 9:22

14.  And to the high council who asked "Tell us if you are the Messiah", he said,

"If I tell you, you won't believe me.  And if I ask you a question, you won't answer.

But the time is soon coming when I, the Son of Man, will be sitting at God's right hand in the place of power."

To which the council shouted, "Then you claim you are the Son of God?

And Jesus replied, "You are right in saying that I am."   Luke 22:66-71

This day, we respect and pay homage to Jesus based on the historical documentation of his resurrection: 'On the third day, he arose again in accordance with the Scriptures.'  Although we don't know exactly when this occurred, we come together as Christians in anniversary of the day he was resurrected, giving us hope and opportunity to join him in paradise of heaven.

Embrace him now!

This man is Jesus!

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit forgive me for my sins, so that I may be a cleansed vessel to which Holy Spirit would want to come, rest and have his being, to lead, guide and direct me.  Heal me and make me whole.  Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.  Happy are those who receive him.  I bow down to you, risen King, Redeemer!  I cherish you.  I'd be lost without you.  Thank you for being willing to answer God's call to honor him and bring honor to all in the world....including those who are willing to abide in you, taking on sins to the point of disfigurement, so as to not even be recognized, before ascending to heaven from the grave of hell for our sins.....giving us opportunity to go to heaven with you, should we accept you and abide with you.  [John 15]  May all in the world understand the enormity of your gift and be willing with me to bow down in praise and thanksgiving as we receive you into our hearts and renew our relationship with you this day on the anniversary of your rising to King, Redeemer of the world.  I praise you.  I thank you.  I love you.  May the world do the same.  Alleluia and Amen!

  Benediction....Blessing

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, animals, the earth, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

  One last thing....

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.  I encourage you to pray your own prayers as well.

NOTE:  I said it long ago, but let me say it again.  If you are wanting to lead a group, start a church, or are confined in an institution, or live in a country where the Gospel is not preached, and you don't know what to say or how to say it, and yet feel led to share, teach, or preach, besides just reading straight out of the Bible and sharing what God puts on your heart, please feel free to share any or all of what I've written, if it will help you, as long as you include where it comes from, due to copyright laws.  Jesus gave God's love and healing freely, as well as his message.  Our responsibility is to get the Word out to those who need to hear it.  If what I've written....by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit....or what he has said through me....has helped you, it may help others that you know.  You are welcome to share it.  God calls all of us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  Please share it with the fullness of love that God, Jesus, Holy Spirit....and I....have given it.  Amen!
