  Have You Turned?

 Acts 13: 23 -25

Acts

And it is one of King David's descendants, Jesus, who is God's promised Savior of Israel!  But before he came, John The Baptist preached the need for everyone in Israel to turn from sin and turn to God and be baptized.  As John was finishing his ministry he asked, 'Do you think I am the Messiah?  No!  But he is coming soon - and I am not even worthy to be his slave.'

  Thoughts....

God's promised Savior of Israel.  What does that mean to you and I?

If you are a Jew, it means your Messiah has come.

If you are a Gentile, it means your Savior has come.

Messiah and Savior mean the same essentially.

The phrase: "Jesus is no respecter of persons." used to bother me greatly.  But I finally got it the other day.  Although linguistically (?), grammatically(?), I would have to say it is not used properly, in the text in which it is used, it means he sees all equally and does not differentiate between Jew or Gentile, Male or Female, Slave or Free.  He does not raise any above another.  He came for all, that we all might have life abundantly.  He died for all that we would be set free from our sins - cleansed in a away only the eternal understand, and, in doing so, opened the door that leads to eternal life.

But before he came, John the Baptist preached the need for everyone to turn from sin and turn to God and be baptized.

Have you turned?  Have you turned from that which keeps you in the clutches of Satan's hands which, if you have not turned, guarantees your journey to hell?

"How do you keep from it?", you ask.  Turn to God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.

What else must you do?  OBEY them. The threshing fork is ready.  Jesus will prune you fast to the earth below, if you don't submit to the Trinity:   God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  Soon, at any moment, you could lose your life and be held accountable, called, as the last trumpet sounds.  And who will call you?  Who would you want most to hear from, Satan, or Jesus?

Turn from your sins and turn to God.

Your end time will most likely come before THE end times.  Where will you be when YOUR dust settles?

'Baptism is an outward profession of an inward confession'. Confess your sins to God from your heart, believe in and accept that Jesus IS YOUR Savior, get baptized to show you've accepted being inwardly cleansed.  Others will then know you are a Christian and will help you during your days of temptation by supporting your new walk.  And, BIG 'and', OBEY.  Only then will your body/home, the temple that houses Jesus in your heart, NOT fall, nor succumb to temptation, because you will have built a firm house with Christ Jesus as your cornerstone, God as your foundation, and Holy Spirit your walls in which will be the windows to your soul.  [Be careful what you look at through your windows.]

John wasn't the Messiah, but Jesus is....Savior & Lord.

Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus.  Make him Lord of your life today, so he will find you worthy when the last trumpet sounds for your life.

'Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Praise him all creatures here below.

Praise him all of the heavenly hosts.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.'

Amen.

  Let Us Pray

Yes, Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I praise you!  I have turned!  I have confessed my sins to God.  I believe in and have accepted Jesus as my Savior. I am trying earnestly to obey you with the help of Holy Spirit. I would like to say I have made you Lord of my life, but I am not perfect.  Even though I SAY I have made you Lord of my life, the truth is that I do not vacuum as often as I should, or scrub the floors as often either.  More importantly, I do not wake up with you on my heart every morning, nor breathe with you during every part of every day. I seldom say good night, or tell you that I love you.  I've always said that 'try' is not an action verb, 'do' is.  I'm as guilty as the person that takes that cigarette when they have cancer, if I am not DOING the action(s) of obeying you to have a healed, abundant life with you.  NO, I don't smoke, for those questioning this statement.  But the sentiment is similar in that those who have cancer and continue to smoke are not doing everything to live.  When I don't do everything I know to live ETERNALLY, I, too, will die....going into hell....instead of heaven.  And so will everyone else who does not OBEY.  Jesus was VERY clear in John 15.  He'll toss me out, I'll get burned up, if I don't obey.....everyone else, too.  It's easy to gloss over that part and just say, 'Once saved always saved', but that is not a true statement.  Jesus made that clear.  So, Father God, forgive me.  Jesus, carry me.  Holy Spirit, help me.  I mean REALLY help me, even more than you already have.  Bless your heart, by the way, for going the distance, all of you.  I appreciate you, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit for putting up with me.  And for loving me.  And forgiving me.  And being willing to continue to work with me....help me OBEY....until that last trumpet sounds.  May I find myself in the eternal heavens, NOT the eternal hell.  Thank you.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I praise you!  I thank you!  I love you.  Amen.

This message was typed on the NEW computer that I've just been able to purchase because the church (also used as my personal) computer ceased to function.  It has meant the world to me, and to God, for the donations of prayer support that enabled me to purchase a computer.  I will hopefully be able to draw from the old computer all 'Thoughts' written for the Lord to complete the book he has slated for publishing.  Thank you SO much, and, may God bless you.

  Benediction....Blessing

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, animals, the earth, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

   Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.  I encourage you to pray your own prayers as well.

NOTE:  I said it long ago, but let me say it again.  If you are wanting to lead a group, start a church, or are confined in an institution, or live in a country where the Gospel is not preached, and you don't know what to say or how to say it, and yet feel led to share, teach, or preach, besides just reading straight out of the Bible and sharing what God puts on your heart, please feel free to share any or all of what I've written, if it will help you, as long as you include where it comes from, due to copyright laws.  Jesus gave God's love and healing freely, as well as his message.  Our responsibility is to get the Word out to those who need to hear it.  If what I've written....by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit....or what he has said through me....has helped you, it may help others that you know.  You are welcome to share it.  God calls all of us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.  Please share it with the fullness of love that God, Jesus, Holy Spirit....and I....have given it.  Amen!
