Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father....our Father, Creator

In Jesus, the Messiah....our Savior and Lord
and in
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.

We believe that God made the heavens, the earth, and all creatures therein.

And that He forgives us of our sins.

God has given all creatures His son, Jesus, who died on a cross and arose from the dead.

We believe Jesus went to heaven and is now seated at God’s right hand.

Jesus' death and resurrection has given us the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life.

God has given us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

*

Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man who was crucified, was raised from the dead by God!

Jesus has now become the cornerstone.

"There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 4: 10 - 12

Holy Bible New Living Translation

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created the heavens and the earth.  He lovingly forgives our sins.  God gave us His Son, Jesus, who died on a cross, and arose from the dead.  Jesus now sits at the right hand of God.  He is the Messiah, our Savior.  He can be our Lord, if we believe in him and accept him.  He gave us the opportunity to receive eternal life.  When Jesus went to heaven, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach, and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) into your life to receive all they have to give you, and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Jesus, please come into my life, heal me, and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you, to love you as you love me, so I can love others, and, so I can love myself.  Holy Spirit, please fill me to overflowing with all the fruits and the gifts you have to give me to help me grow in Christ Jesus and be able to share the Trinity with others.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus' name I pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, or one from your heart, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow, and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  We hope to have a special page for this purpose.  We now have a page where you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together praying as a body of believers, for Jesus said, ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who God calls ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’ But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

The Apostle Paul gave us this “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

 Living Conduit

 Acts 9: 32 - 43

 Luke

Peter traveled from place to place to visit the believers, and in his travels he came to the Lord's people in the town of Lydda.  There he met a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.  Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you!  Get up and make your bed!"  And he was healed instantly.  Then the whole population of Lydda and Sharon turned to the Lord when they saw Aeneas walking around.

There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Dorcas).  She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor.  About this time she became ill and died.  Her friends prepared her for burial and laid her in an upstairs room.  But they had heard that Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg with him.  "Please come as soon as possible!"

So Peter returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room.  The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and other garments Dorcas had made for them.  But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed.  Turning to the body he said, "Get up, Tabitha."  And she opened her eyes!  When she saw Peter, she sat up!  He gave her his hand and helped her up.  Then he called in the widows and all the believers and he showed them that she was alive.

The news raced through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord.  And Peter stayed a long time in Joppa, living with Simon, a leatherworker.

Thoughts....

Living conduit.  What does that mean?  According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary it is 'a natural channel through which something is conveyed'.  In todays lesson, we see that Peter was a 'living conduit' for the Lord.  A natural channel through which the Lord conveyed healing.  Are you a living conduit....a natural channel through which the Lord conveys healing?  Let's learn more.

First of all we learn that Peter traveled from place to place to visit the believers.  One would think in this day and age of vast travel that all pastors, preachers, priests, ministers, etc. would be traveling more [?] to share the Lord.  Many do not even leave their home or church, let alone travel to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  VERY few travel to act as a living conduit for the Lord's healing.  Will you to choose to be an example of a living conduit where others have not been?   Will you choose to travel from place to place to visit the believers?

Please remember charity begins at home.  Are all your family members believers?  Do you know your neighbor?  What about your co-worker?  Another church?  Where shall you go?  Where are you being sent?  Will you reach out?  Will you be a living conduit right in your neighborhood, work place, city, town, municipality, state?  Will you journey to a foreign land?  Listen, for God has much to say.  Note that in todays lesson, Peter went to visit the believers.  However, we learn by the end of todays documented history that many believed in the Lord, as the news raced through the whole town of Tabitha's/Dorcas' healing.  From this we can understand that new believers were added to the group.

'Peter traveled from place to place and in his travels he came to the town of Lydda.  There he came to a bedridden man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.'  At this point, what would you and I normally do?  Offer a word of empathy, sympathy, encouragement?  How can someone feel encouraged after 8 years of being bedridden?!  What is the ultimate encouragement one can bestow to someone in this man's condition?  HEALTH!  WELLNESS!

Ok, so I hear you saying, "What?!  What can I do that years of Dr.s have not done?"  Do we KNOW that he even went to a Dr. ever?  Do we know if he followed a Dr.s orders, if he went?  Do we know why he is in the condition he is in?  You might say you do not.  But what have we been learning throughout the last few years of study, if you have been following along, about illness?  One, it's caused by the sin of the person, or the sin of another against a person, or, two, Satan just plain old is having a grand old time putting down and keeping down a person worthy of an abundant life.  "And.....?" you say.  And that means that the man can be healed.  Knowledge is everything and truth WILL set you free.

"So what can I do for someone like Aeneas, the man from Lydda?"  Heal them.  "It's not that easy.  I am not Peter, I am not infused with healing power."  Aren't you?   Do you believe in God, Jesus, Holy Spirit?  Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and made him Lord of your life?  Have you received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?  If you can say yes to all three questions, then you are infused with healing power.  You are a living conduit.  You can walk up to people and heal them.

"They'd freak.  I'd freak!"  Why?  Because you would own the power?  You DO own the power if you have God, Jesus, Holy Spirit living in your life.  Living, as in 'living conduit', as in not dead....spiritually.  And you SHOULD be going forth doing as you are baptized, called, anointed, ordained, convicted to do.  "Convicted?"  Yes, convicted.  Feeling guilty?  Convicted!

"But how to I do it....heal someone?"  Peter gave us a classic example.  He walked up to him and said, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you!  Get up and make your bed!"  You've probably heard the phrase, 'You've made your bed, go lie in it.'  It means you've made a choice, and you settle into that choice.  A person who is spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, not well, ['down and troubled and need a helping hand'- 'You've Got A Friend'] eventually become bedridden in any or all of those areas.  Our job as baptized, called, anointed, ordained, Christians is to share with everyone the Gospel, so that everyone has a firm Christian foundation of faith from which they can be healed, grow, live, and rise above.  That starts with sharing the Gospel, leads to healing others, and informing others their sins are forgiven.  Living conduit.

Do you remember when Jesus asked in Luke 5:23, "Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven' or 'Get up and walk'?  Like Jesus, you, too, can prove your authority on earth and say to people as he said in Luke 5:20, "Son, your sins are forgiven." and "Stand up, take your mat, and go on home, because you are healed!"  Luke 5:24

In Luke 17:11-19 Jesus heard ten lepers standing in the distance crying out for him to heal them.  He looked at them.  Then he told them to go and show themselves to the priests.  As they went on their way, their leprosy was healed.  One of them returned to Jesus praising God that he was healed, as he fell face down on the ground at Jesus' feet thanking him for what he had done.  Jesus queried why the other men had not returned with thanksgiving and only one had returned to give glory to God.  Then he said to the man, "Stand up and go.  Your faith has made you well."  Herein is an example of how one can be healed.  By FAITH.  Faith in the one doing the healing....God, Jesus, Holy Spirit....not you or I.  Remember, we are living conduits for them.

Next we learn about the believer in Joppa named Tabitha (Tabitha is from Aramaic language, Dorcas is from Greek.  Both names mean 'Gazelle', as in how we use it today, "She/he was leaping about doing good for others.") who was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor.  Tabitha/Dorcas had become ill and died.  She had even been prepared for burial.  But her friends had heard that Peter was nearby so they sent two men to beg him to go to them as soon as possible to hopefully help Tabitha/Dorcas.

Of course, Peter went with them, and, when he arrived, he was led to the upstairs room where Tabitha/Dorcas was.  Peter asked everyone to leave the room.  'Then he knelt and prayed'.  Let me say this again, 'Then he knelt and prayed.'  There are times when OUR faith needs to be strengthened and we MUST be sure we are doing the will of the God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  We do that best through submission (kneeling shows submission, vulnerability, honor, and gives glory) and listening to the Trinity (God Jesus, Holy Spirit) through prayer.  Note: prayer is not only speaking, but listening. It is a supreme form of communication.  Communication requires both speaking and listening.  Yet another form of conduit.

Then, Peter turned to the body.  Note that it doesn't say he turned to Tabitha/Dorcas.  This indicates there was no life left in her.  He said, "Get up, Tabitha."  He called upon her spirit, soul, so named Tabitha, to return to the body.  'And she opened her eyes!'  When she saw Peter, she sat up!  He gave her his hand and helped her up.  Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he showed them that she was alive.'

Was it Tabitha's faith that healed her?  No.  How could it be?   She was dead.  Who's faith healed her?  The faith of the widows, the believers, Peter.

In the first example when Jesus healed per references from Luke, it was the lepers' own faith.   In Tabitha's healing, it was the faith of others.  This is important.  Get this, read it again.  Many times it is OUR faith in others, for others, that is instrumental in them being healed.  Other times it is the faith of the individual that is instrumental in one being healed.

Beyond the healing aspect of todays lesson, what else can we learn?  In both the Luke reference, and todays reference, we learn that many believed in and praised the Lord.  Let's turn back to Luke 5:25-26 for a minute.  It reads, 'And immediately, as everyone watched, the man jumped to his feet, picked up his mat, and went home praising God.  EVERYONE was gripped with great wonder and awe. And they [means everyone] praised GOD, saying over and over again, "We have seen amazing things today."  People praised God!  That's awesome!  That's what is supposed to be happening!  In good times AND in bad.  In, I think it is The Revised Standard Version of the Bible, or an older version of the NLT, it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 'In everything give praise and thanksgiving.'  [In....as in....in the midst of....everything.]  In the version I currently use for preaching it reads: 'No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.'  Certainly the folks from Jerusalem, Galilee and Judea who saw Jesus heal a paralyzed man were praise filled.

And in todays lesson we learn, 'The news raced through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord.'  This, too is awesome!  For that is the goal, the will of the Father who sent him, Jesus, our Savior.  That all who would know him would believe, and in believing have life.  In....in the midst of.  And IN believing....not just being baptized and going on with your life.  Not just saying you know him and doing your own thing anyway.  Not just going to church and not showing God, Jesus, Holy Spirit in your life outside of church.  But TRULY, DEEPLY, KNOWINGLY believe and IN believing....LIVING with him daily....with 'every breath you take'....you shall have life.  Abundantly.

And Peter stayed a long time in Joppa, living with Simon, a leatherworker.'   Why is this an important comment?  Because people believed that Peter had the Lord in his life.  He was found to have integrity, credibility by who he believed in, how he lived his life, how he carried himself, who he shared with others....Jesus, Savior and Lord.

What can others learn about your life?  Would others know that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior.  Is he Lord over your life?  Would others know by how you live, breathe, and have your being?  Would they recognize Jesus in you by how you carry yourself?  Have you integrity, credibility because you know God, Jesus, Holy Spirit?  Do you share him with others?  Are you willing to, or have you already, healed others as a living conduit for God, Jesus, Holy Spirit?  Are you ready to do so now?

Believe, kneel, pray and have faith....then go forth....as a living conduit today!

  Let Us Pray

Holy heavenly Father, God.  Jesus, my Savior and Lord.  Holy Spirit, my comforter, teacher.  I praise you and thank you that I am a living conduit for you in the world to help others.  I am honored to have been given the opportunity to have life and have it abundantly.  May I live it in such a way as others will always know to whom I belong....you.  May I always be available to those who so desperately need to be healed....spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, even economically.  May I always hear your will and do your will for glory to be given to you.  Show me your way, your truth, your light, that I might know you, and have you light my path on the journey of life.  God, you are the holy Way, Jesus, you are the Light, Holy Spirit you are the Truth.  Lead me onward and let the load not be heavy.  But when, or, if it is, I will know that you are there to carry me and see me through.  Send me to help others stumbling through life.  Open new doors, light new paths, reduce the fray that keeps me and others from getting to where we need to go and who we need to be....for you....for ourselves....for others around us.  I'm excited and honored to continue to be a living conduit for you, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  Let's power up the earth together, that all may know how wonderful, great, and life giving you are!  IN everything, I just praise you and thank you and give you all the glory!  Thank you!  I love you!  I praise you!  Amen!

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, animals, the earth, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

   Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message
