Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father....our Father, Creator

In Jesus, the Messiah....our Savior and Lord
and in
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.

We believe that God made the heavens, the earth, and all creatures therein.

And that He forgives us of our sins.

God has given all creatures His son, Jesus, who died on a cross and arose from the dead.

We believe Jesus went to heaven and is now seated at God’s right hand.

His death and resurrection has given us the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life.

God has given us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

*

Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man who was crucified, was raised from the dead by God!

Jesus has now become the cornerstone.

"There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 4: 10 - 12

Holy Bible New Living Translation

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created the heavens and the earth.  He lovingly forgives our sins.  God gave us His Son, Jesus, who died on a cross, and arose from the dead.  Jesus now sits at the right hand of God.  He is the Messiah, our Savior.  He can be our Lord, if we believe in him and accept him.  He gave us the opportunity to receive eternal life.  When Jesus went to heaven, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach, and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) into your life to receive all they have to give you, and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Jesus, please come into my life, heal me, and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you, to love you as you love me, so I can love others, and, so I can love myself.  Holy Spirit, please fill me to overflowing with all the fruits and the gifts you have to give me to help me grow in Christ Jesus and be able to share the Trinity with others.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, or one from your heart, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow, and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  We hope to have a special page for this purpose.  We now have a page where you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together praying as a body of believers, for Jesus said, ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who God calls ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’ But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us this “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

The Walk With Jesus....Yours?

Luke 24: 13 - 27

Luke

That same day two of Jesus' followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles out of Jerusalem.  As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened.  Suddenly, Jesus himself came along and joined them and began walking beside them.  But they didn't know who he was, because God kept them from recognizing him.

"You seem to be in a deep discussion about something," he said.  "What are you so concerned about?"

They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.  Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, "You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn't heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days."

"What things?" Jesus asked.

"The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth," they said.  "He was a prophet who did wonderful miracles.  He was a mighty teacher, highly regarded by both God and all the people.  But our leading priests and other religious leaders arrested him and handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him.  We had thought he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel.  That all happened three days ago.  Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report.  They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels who told them Jesus is alive!  Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, Jesus' body was gone, just as the women had said."

Then Jesus said to them, "You are such foolish people!  You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures.  Wasn't it clearly predicted by the prophets that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his time of glory?"  Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself.

Thoughts....

Just another day in paradise?

Let's open this scene with you walking down the road.  Perhaps you are in a woodland area.  Or maybe you are in an area lacking even desert vegetation.  Are you on a mountain climb or a valley continuum?  Are you alone contemplating the last few days, or are you with a friend sharing events like the two followers of Jesus' in todays lesson from documented history?

Now, place yourself, in your minds eye, outside your city overlooking that area which you call home.  You see two of your friends walking and talking.  They appear saddened, downtrodden.  You wonder why.  Then you see another man join them.  Do they recognize the man who just joined them?

Luke tells us that the man was Jesus who joined the others.  Would you recognize Jesus if he walked up to you?  Would you recognize Jesus within another?  Is he in you?

Luke says that they didn't know who Jesus was because God kept them from recognizing him.  Hmmmmm.  I wonder if God kept them from recognizing him, or if he was unrecognizable as a result of just returning from hell and taking on all the sins of the world.....that would be your sins and my sins, and those of others.  I'm thinking being exposed to and carrying something of such magnitude would do more than disfigure a person physically.  Having sinned, can you recall how you felt mentally and emotionally?  Perhaps your body changed from over-eating or under-eating.  Maybe you became fatigued, as a result of the battle within....and out.  Probably your attitude changed, as a result of all the emotional turmoil.  Maybe you became jaded, skeptical of a good life.  You might have even punished yourself because you sinned against God.  And you've had a hard time looking up....to God.

But look up to God, you must!

Jesus hears your thoughts, perhaps you are talking to another.  Your friend with whom you are walking....talking....is it God?  He says, as he did to the two on the walk to Emmaus, "You seem to be in a deep discussion about something.  What are you so concerned about?"  Jesus cares.  Would you hear him ask you this question?

In our study today we learn, 'They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.  Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, "You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn't heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days."

One of the two continued speaking to Jesus saying, "The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth.  He was a prophet who did wonderful miracles.  He was a mighty teacher, highly regarded by both God and all the people.  But our leading priests and other religious leaders arrested him and handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him."

Would you be saddened if you heard that a friend you hold in high esteem, and who had changed your life for the better, had died?  What if you believed this person could be the Messiah for the world?  As a matter of fact, how DO you feel that this happened to Jesus?  Is he YOUR Messiah, Savior, Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords?

Or would you be one to hand him over to be crucified?  You know, every time you sin, he is crucified all over again....in his heart.

Luke goes on to tell us that one of the two said to the stranger, who we know is Jesus, "We had thought he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel.  That all happened three days ago. Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report.  They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels, who told them Jesus is alive!  Some of our men ran out to see and sure enough, Jesus' body was gone, just as the women had said."

I don't know about you, but if I saw a real live angel, wings and all, I might fall into a 'dead faint' like the guards did, as reported by Matthew in chapter 28 of documented history.

Overlooking this scenario from your vantage point, can you see the opening to the cave?  Can you see in it?  Are the guys....and gals....telling the truth?  Have you any real, valid, reason to distrust what they say?  [Especially since it is now documented history?!!!!]

Would you be one of those who ran out to see if indeed the cave was empty?  Have you been or are you now a skeptic?  Do you believe the cave was void of Jesus' body?

Does it matter?  Hmmmm....would it matter to who Jesus IS, if his body were taken?  Did he bodily go into hell with his Spirit or did he just spiritually enter hell without his body?  If so, then what did happen to his body?  What do you believe?  Which thoughts bring you closer to believing who he is, that he is, and how wonderful he is?  What are the facts....as documented in history?

Let's read on.

We further learn via Luke, "Then Jesus said to them, '"You are such foolish people!  [Note the exclamation point!]  You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures.  Wasn't it clearly predicted by the prophets that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his time of glory?"  Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself.'  The King of Glory.

Do you think Jesus has suffered enough?  If so, then why keep putting Jesus through the suffering?  His heart breaks every time you....or I....sin.  Maybe it is time that Jesus be born, or reborn, in your heart today....and even mine.  Perhaps today, you will decide what gifts you will give Jesus, who, like the wise men, brought gifts to the newborn King.

Are you walking alone now, or is Jesus, your friend, with you?  Have you made him Messiah, Lord, over your life?  What is your view now on your walk?  Can you place yourself on the journey WITH him?  I hope so....so does he. What gifts will you bring?

'Come, they told them....

The new born King to see....

The finest gifts we bring....

To lay before the King....

So to honor him....'

 Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for bringing truth into my life, that I might learn and grow.  I want you to be by my side on the journey of life, Jesus.  God, please forgive me of my sins.  Jesus, please come into my life and be my Savior and Lord.  Holy Spirit, please continue to teach me all I need to know to never lose any of you on the journey.  Help me be a better person and live a better life.  Help me share with others, who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are.  God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, grant me, and my family, the blessings, please, of stepping into the vision you gave us, so we can be in a better position to share all we can about you through the miracles you've given us, and, we will be able to best share your love and gifts with others.  I pray, this new year, that you will find us closer to your heart, and, that you will finally find us worthy of enacting the vision.  Please accept us and all we have to give you as gifts.  I, and my family, love you, thank you, and praise you with an enormous amount of gratitude!  Amen.

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

   Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."
