Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father....our Father, the Creator

In Jesus, the Messiah....our Savior
and in
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.

We believe that God made the heavens, the earth, and all creatures therein.

He forgives us of our sins.

God has given all creatures His son, Jesus, who died on a cross and arose from the dead.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, and, he is now seated at God’s right hand.

His death and resurrection has given us the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life.

God has given us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

*

Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man who was crucified, was raised from the dead by God!

Jesus has now become the cornerstone.

"There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 4: 10 - 12

Holy Bible New Living Translation

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who 'created the heavens and the earth'.  He lovingly forgives our sins.  God gave us His Son, Jesus, who died on a cross.  He is the Messiah, our Savior.  He can be our Lord, if we believe in him and accept him.  He gave us the opportunity to receive eternal life. When Jesus went to heaven, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach, and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) into your life to receive all they have to give you, and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Jesus, please come into my life, heal me, and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you, to love you as you love me, and so I can love others.  So I can love myself.  Holy Spirit, please fill me to overflowing with all the fruits and the gifts you have to give me to help me grow in Christ Jesus and be able to share the Trinity with others.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, or one from your heart, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together praying as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who God calls ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

He Has Called You By Name

Luke 19: 1 - 10

Luke

Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.  There was a man there named Zacchaeus.  He was one of the most influential Jews in the Roman tax-collecting business, and he had become very rich.  He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowds.  So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree beside the road, so he could watch from there.

When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name.  "Zacchaeus!" he said.  "Quick, come down!  For I must be a guest in your home today."

Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy.  But the crowds were displeased.  "He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner," they grumbled.

Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have overcharged People on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!"

Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a son of Abraham.  And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost."

Thoughts.....

Zacchaeus....a Jew by birth, employed by Romans.  What else....what other words might define him or his actions?  Curious, Seeking, Eager, Responsive, Welcoming, Excited, Joyous, Sinner, Repentant, Resolved, Absolved....Forgiven, Restored, Saved.

Curious, Seeking, Eager

Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.  There was a man there named Zacchaeus.  He was one of the most influential Jews in the Roman tax-collecting business, and he had become very rich.  [Also Resourceful.]  He tried to get a LOOK at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowds.  So he RAN ahead and CLIMBED a sycamore tree beside the road, so he could WATCH from there.

When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name.  "Zacchaeus!" he said.  "Quick, come down!  For I must be a guest in your home today."  [Probably also Shocked, Surprised.]

Responsive, Eager, Welcoming, Joyous, Excited, Sinner

Zacchaeus QUICKLY CLIMBED DOWN and TOOK Jesus to his house in GREAT EXCITEMENT and JOY.  But the crowds were displeased.  "He has gone to be the guest of a notorious SINNER," they grumbled.

Repentant, Resolved

Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "I will GIVE half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have overcharged people on their taxes, I will GIVE them back four times as much!"

Absolved....Forgiven, Restored, Saved

Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a son of Abraham And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost."

Jesus IS calling you by name!

Do any of these words fit you or your choices?

Are you a Sinner?

Are you Curious, Seeking?

Are you ready and willing to be....Responsive, Eager, Welcoming, Joyous, Excited?

When Jesus comes....he is with you now actually....will he find you Repentant, Resolved?

Are you ready to be Absolved....Forgiven, Restored, Saved?

He is calling YOU by name....now....today.  Where do you stand?  What choices will you make?

Are you sure you are saved?

This lesson is an invitation, a welcome call....and a wake up call to those [of us] who may have 'gone by the wayside' with our faith and our faith walk.  It does not matter your walk in life, how you were born or who you were born to.  It matters not what your employment is, or that you are a sinner....I am a sinner, too.   It matters what you do once you learn, or are reminded....like me.

Are you curious?

Are you a seeker?

Maybe you believe but your faith has grown stale....is no longer fresh....eager, welcoming, joyous, excited.

No one is perfect.  Everyone is a sinner.

Today would be a good day to repent....ask forgiveness of your sins, choose to walk a new walk, talk a new talk.

Today would be a good day to be resolved....committed....to making a new or fresh start in your life with God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.

Be resolved to asking for forgiveness of your sins....making restitution where you can....walking with him daily.

Be absolved today....forgiven of your sins....if you choose to ask God to forgive you.  He will, if you ask.

Be saved by believing in God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, asking God to forgive you of your sins, asking Jesus to come into your life.

Then, ask Holy Spirit to come into your life to teach you, provide you with comfort, and guide you.

Be strengthened in your belief, your faith walk, by reading the Word....the Bible....most importantly, the New Testament, to learn how you are to live your life.

Remember always that he calls you by name, just like he did with Zacchaeus.  Just like he did for Israel...."I called you by name and you are mine."  Isaiah 43:1  Feel free to read all of Isaiah 43.

He's calling you right now.  Choose to invite him in.  By responding to him....welcoming him....he will comfort you and restore you.  He will give you a new life....with him.

If you don't know how to pray, or what to pray, there is a prayer above todays lesson that will help you ask God, Jesus, Holy Spirit into your life.  There are also prayers on the 'Prayers To God' page in 'The Family Room'.  Go to him now....he wants to  hear your voice, your heart of love.  He loves you, will forgive you, and will welcome you into his arms today.

Psalm 23 *

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:  he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:  and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.//

Don't forget to obey him and thank him.  You obey him by learning his will through reading the New Testament and acting on what you have learned.  You thank the Lord by obeying him and walking in his will, talking the talk, and bringing others to him.

I hope todays lesson has shown you how wonderful God, Jesus, Holy Spirit are, and, that you've learned they await your answer with forgiving, welcoming arms of love.  I hope, also, that those who may have lost sight, haven't heard their voices lately, will incline your ear and look out....for they are with you.   May you be uplifted, comforted, restored!  Alleluia!

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I hear you calling me.  I am reminded yet again of your marvelous love, forgiveness, healing grace.  The journey has not been easy, and it has been hard these many days to see your face, hear your voice, amid the roar of life.  But Lord, I have never let go.  I may have not felt the strength of your empowerment, Holy Spirit.  I may have allowed into my life Satan's negative spirit of downtrodden emotions, but Lord, you ARE with me.  You told me as a child that you would be with me always, and I have always believed that.  You didn't mean all things would be perfect,  you meant that you would be with me in the imperfections of life.  You meant that your love for me would never waver.  You meant that you would raise me to new heights on that day when the trumpet sounds.  And you meant that would carry me every day in between that I might not be able to walk on my own....even with you by my side.  Well, Lord, my love for you has never wavered, despite my lack of perfection in showing it to you.  For those days I didn't say I love you through thought, word, or deed, please forgive me.  I do love you....I always have.  I cannot imagine how my life would have been without you....I don't want to either.  Help me to better show you I love you by my actions, how I obey you; my voice as I speak to you....praising you more than begging from you; the choices I make, my values as yours; my intent as I speak out, my steps going forth for you and with you in your name.  For only then will I know full restoration of my soul....and the glory will be yours.  Then, your joy will well up within me....a well I can then better share with others.  Oh, Lord, I come to you today, from the depths of my soul bowing down to you in worship, pouring out my heart to you, begging you, praising you, thanking you, loving you.  Help me rise above the ashes of life for your name's sake, that others may see who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are, as I share my testimony of all you have been and all you have done for me in my life.  And all you will do....please do not stop now.  As the song goes, 'I need you more than ever.'  Restore my heart of love.  Help me better restore yours.  Thank you.  I love you.  Amen.

Thank You

Dear God,

I want to thank you for what you have already done.

I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards; I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better; I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me; I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears; I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves; I am going to thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet; I am going to thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job; I am going to thank you right now.

I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief; I am thanking you right now.

I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed; I am thanking your right now.

I am thanking you because I am alive.

I am thanking you because I made it through the day's difficulties.

I am thanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.

I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more and do better.

I'm thanking you because FATHER, YOU haven't given up on me.

Amen!

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you !

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

   Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."
