   Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son
and
Holy Spirit of truth, the Comforter and Teacher.

We believe that God made the heavens and the earth,
and gave all creatures His son, Jesus,
who died on the cross to forgive our sins
 and
to give us eternal life
.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, he is now seated at God’s right hand,
 and
that God gave us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth.  He gave us His Son, who died on a cross to allow our sins to be forgiven and give us eternal life becoming our Lord and Savior.  When Jesus died, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1 & 2
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26, 16:5-15

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity into your life and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Please come into my life, heal me and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you to love you, and others, as you love me.  So I can love myself.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

***

If you have prayed this prayer, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who I call ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

  Not Just For Leaders

Luke 11: 37 - 53

Luke

As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal.  So he went in and took his place at the table.  His host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the ceremonial washing required by Jewish custom.  Then the Lord said to him, "You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are still filthy - full of greed and wickedness!  Fools!  Didn't God make the inside as well as the outside?  So give to the needy what you greedily possess, and you will be clean all over.

"But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees!  For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you completely forget about justice and the love of God.  You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.

"How terrible it will be for you Pharisees!  For how you love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the respectful greetings from everyone as you walk through the markets!  Yes, how terrible it will be for you.  For you are like hidden graves in a field.  People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on."

"Teacher," said an expert in religious law, "you have insulted us, too, in what you just said."

"Yes, said Jesus, "how terrible it will be for you experts in religious law!  For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands, and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden.  How terrible it will be for you!  For you build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago.  Murderers!  You agree with your ancestors that what they did was right.  You would have done the same yourselves.  This is what God in his wisdom said about you: 'I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.'

"And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God's prophets from the creation of the world - from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary.  Yes, it will surely be charged against you.

"How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law!  For you hide the key to knowledge from the people.  You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering."

As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees, and teachers of religious law were furious.  From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.

Thoughts.....

Hello hello hello.  I hope for those who have celebrated the beginning of a new year that it is starting as you hoped.  We've got a long one today, let's see what direction God will leads us.

First, let me remind you that the Pharisees were a 'strict group of religious Jews who advocated minute [exact] obedience to the Jewish law and traditions.  They were very influential in the synagogue. They agreed with Jesus' respect for the law, belief in the resurrection of the dead, and were committed to obeying God's will.  However, they rejected Jesus' claim to being the Messiah because he did not follow all their traditions and associated with notoriously wicked people.'  This per NIV note on Prominent Jewish Religious and Political Groups.

In the first paragraph we learn Jesus was invited home for a meal to the home of one of the Pharisees.  He went in and took his place at the table.  We learn his host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the ceremonial washing required by Jewish custom.  This part of the story kind of makes me laugh, as I am reminded of an incident in my childhood.  My Dad was all about being clean and keeping one's hands washed.  He was always asking if I'd washed my hands before eating.  One time during dinner he told me to go wash my hands....I'd looked at the dog who was seated next to the table earnestly waiting the drop of a morsel....she was a little Dachshund.  I told him I had washed my hands before dinner.  He said I had looked at the dog and I needed to go wash my hands.  I sure wished I'd seen a glimmer of mirth in his eyes, but I didn't.  I did not go wash my hands again.  Thankfully, my Mom intervened telling him he was being silly.  So the Pharisee is saying:  'The Rules The Rules', rather than 'The Plane The Plane'....little play on words from a TV show of old.

Are rules important?  Any organization will tell you some basic rules are important to keep order, balance, fairness....equality in check.  But Jesus rebuked his host....and all Pharisees....about 'the rules'.  He told them they were so careful about following the rules....to clean the outside of the cup and the dish.  Then he said, "but inside you are still filthy - full of greed and wickedness!"

Note exclamation point....he wasn't mincing words, especially when he then called them "Fools!".  Note another exclamation point.  This was righteous anger in real time.  He goes on to say, "Didn't God make the inside as well as the outside?  [They knew God did....as do we.]  "So give to the needy what you greedily possess, and you will be clean all over."

Can you just give away clothing and be clean all over?  Can you give of your time and be clean all over?  Can you give of your possessions and be clean all over?  Can you give up your arrogance, your mandates, your bad habits, your foundational structure of self-importance, your structured rules to be clean all over?  Can you give up your money?  Can you give up Satan within to make room for, and ask, Jesus to become your Savior and LORD over your life, ask him to forgive you of your sins, thus KNOWING you will then be clean all over?   The answer is 'Yes.......'.

Jesus goes on to rebuke the Pharisees about how they are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of their income, but that the completely forget about justice and the love of God.  He tells them [and us] we should tithe, "Yes", [he emphasizes], but they [and we] should not leave undone the more important things.

This reminds me of this same thought I had while attempting to squeeze the tooth paste tube to it's maximum potential of output the other day.  What else am I trying to squeeze the life out of, or of what should I be squeezing more?  I'm not careful with water output, but I should be, for instance.  I may cook something and then decide by day 2, I really don't want to eat that again and throw it out.  Not that I am a bad cook, but I have great intentions to eat the rice and veggies, and after one day of it, I then want homemade soup and sandwich instead.  Shame on me for throwing it out as waste.  I did learn the lesson to do otherwise....and why.

But Jesus alludes to more than the simple things around us.  He goes deep like still water.  The Pharisees followed 'the rules', the mandates to tithe even the tiniest part of their income.  You have to wonder if it is in celebration with thanksgiving for what the LORD had given them, as it should be....it was HIS money after all....of which they [and we] should be giving a portion of back to him, or, if it was out of fear of what would happen for not following 'the rules'....traditions, dogmas, doctrines.

Jesus rebukes them for forgetting about justice and the love of God.  Where is justice [equality, empathy], love of GOD in their lives?  How are they expressing that....are they even?  And us....you and me....are we?  And does anybody tithe?  Not to this church as the numbers show....or lack of numbers show.  Oh that you would love the LORD with your whole heart....and wallet [HIS money he has given you]....and attitude....and mind....etc.....and love your neighbor as yourself, Jesus is saying as part of this lesson today.

You see, if Jesus is IN you, then all that love must be directed within, to him, through you....and then expressed from you.  If you are loving him you are loving yourself; in loving yourself, you are loving him; and you must share that love and give it to others.

Love does not rule over people.  The Lord did not lord over people, but lovingly made a sacrifice to all for all in giving up his life as ransom for many so that all who would come to him would be forgiven of their sins, if they but ask, and given the opportunity for eternal life.  He gifted all of his life, all of his love, all of his money, all of his heart.  Love God with your whole heart, love your neighbor as yourself.  Measure with God's love when you seek to hand out justice....and or rebuke. by the way.

Oh, gee, the next rebuke is a startling reminder of all that is wrong with those in leadership in churches, and in families, and of those in and on the streets today.  Jesus EXCLAIMED to the Pharisees, "How terrible it will be for you Pharisees!  For how you love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the respectful greetings from everyone as you walk through the markets!  [ARROGANCE.]  Yes, how terrible it will be for you.  For you are like hidden graves in a field.  People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on."  LESSON!  MANY people in leadership in churches, yes, I am talking to you the Priest, Pastor, Minister, etc., are extremely arrogant or somewhat prideful, and expect respect because of the position they/you are in.  But do you give respect?  I'm also talking to you who are parishioners, congregants, church goers....and not.

Some folks are enamored to be 'close' to someone in a leadership capacity, even if it is just sitting in the pews on Sunday.  Then they think they are best friends, if they see them in the grocery store, and want everyone to believe the same, as they say, 'hey', 'hi', 'hello' and nearly bow down or fall all over them, oftentimes with pasted on smiles....figuratively.  Well, that is the context I am currently speaking in anyway.  We all know there are times when 'falling all over' is literal....let us not have to go there....it is way too sad, painful, disgusting.  And yet (!), there went Jesus....rebuking them for their corruption!!!

Folks will walk across a field of flowers enjoying the path, believing it an innocent pastime.  Folks will listen to Priests, Pastors, Ministers, even befriend them superficially or with their whole heart, not knowing 'the evil that lurks within'.  And we are taught to listen....yet we may not know their truths.  Jesus is most definitely letting the Pharisees know nothing is hidden....he knows it all....as does God.  Jesus uses the example of hidden graves to be rather stark....they could indeed be hidden graves in a field....forever....with people never knowing they are there.....because Jesus will have left them there....having lived with gravity, depravity, in their hearts.  Remember he said there will be times when people will do for him in his name and he will say he knew them not.  Pay attention:  Do not be one of that kind....living in such a way as to insure death for all times.  Live in the light of Jesus, so that everything he sees is pleasing to him, that you might live in his light eternally.

I'm astounded that the Pharisee told the Teacher, Jesus, that he had insulted them by what he had said.  Because they did not believe him to be the Messiah, they hadn't a clue how much THEY had insulted HIM by their words and their actions!  Woe to them when they figured it out!  Woe to them anyway based on what Jesus said.

And Jesus didn't stop after the Pharisee spoke what he did.  No holding back for him.  And do keep this in mind.  As Christians, we are supposed to do as he did...rebuke.  But PLEASE keep in mind that for every finger you point, there are more coming back at you.  Get and keep your house clean before you blast through someone else's.

Jesus went on to say, "Yes, how terrible it will be for you experts in religious law!"  No apologies for the rebukes....all truth stated.  "For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands, and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden."  There are churches that place mandates, but then don't help the folks meet the demands.

Example:  Folks must go to church on Sunday  [God does command us to have fellowship].  They have no car, just lost their job, or have a car and no gas money now.  And they are then frowned upon if they don't go to church.  [Oh the sinner!]  Could someone at the church find them a ride, pass along a little gas money, help them get a car, a bus ticket?

Example:  Or they are hungry due to job loss and the church helps them with food, but they have to go to the fields to pick it, or spend time working in the church facility to pay it back, when that time could be used towards looking for a new job or working a paying one.  Sometimes folks, it's just about giving to give.  It's as God outlined....just give.  He didn't say give expecting repayment.  He said give.  And IF you choose to thank someone with repayment, praise God that he has helped you, so you can.  You can also give to someone else....it's called 'paying it forward'.

Example:  paying for prayers?!  I'll never get this one.  Or how about a mandate to pay to use the church meeting rooms as a church member?  I do know it costs money to use electricity, heat or cool a place, and use water....and clean up after others(!).  I also believe a GOOD Christian would want to make a donation to cover any costs, so as to not be a burden on others, or lose what is there for them.  And in thanksgiving for being given the opportunity to utilize the facility.  The same as a good Christian will donate on Sundays for the work done by the Priest, Pastor, Minister preaching the Gospel message, feeding the souls spiritually, and all the study and prep that goes into that for God, Jesus and Holy Spirit....and the folks listening.  And to help insure that the Priest, Pastor or Minister is able to continue in their job.  [For the record, no one pays me unless you do.  There is no entity above any independent Priest, Pastor, or Minister except God, and he expects the flock to support those he's chosen to preach for him.  Some churches are overseen by a large governing body like the Catholics, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians.  But they still rely on the donations of the masses to support the whole of the structure.  As an independent, I have no funds to draw from to help myself and others unless others, like yourself, help first through donations of thanksgiving.  But I, and other independent Priests, Pastors and Ministers, can help in other ways .... like continuing preach and to minister, give wise counsel, guide folks in their daily walk.  Just so you know.]

Jesus goes on to say, "How terrible it will be for you!  For you build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago.  Murderers!  You agree with your ancestors that what they did was right.  You would have done the same yourselves.  This is what God in his wisdom said about you:  'I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.'  It was traditional to build tombs for great prophets.  And yet, it was their forefathers who killed these prophets.  They were taught it was the right thing that the prophets were killed.  Then they would give honor at the tombs.  Seems strange that they would honor those who were killed by their ancestors.  Yet, our ancestors killed Jesus and....we certainly honor him....or should!

Jesus was also alluding to himself, as well, with God's warning when he said, 'I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.'  Look at John the Baptist's life.  Was it right to kill him....and for the reason he was killed, no less?  Hek, no.  It's never right to kill....period.  All of the New Testament describes these actions (the Old Testament as well).  But praise God!  God made Jesus' death count for the salvation of the world, so that all who would believe in him would have forgiveness of sins and everlasting life!  Have you asked Jesus into your life?  Is he your Savior?  Have you made him LORD over your life?

Even in this day and age, as Christians speaking out and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, expect persecutions and killings.  But count yourselves blessed!

"And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God's prophets from the creation of the world - from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary.  Yes, it will surely be charged against you."  You see, it is important that Jesus' death mean something to you, and that you walk in fellowship with him, or everything and everyone that came before him, died for nothing.  It would have been all for naught.  And do you add to the stripes of flogging on Jesus' back as you sin daily?  Choose this day whom you will serve.  Don't throw away those lives and the meaning and purpose of all who have come before to get to the point where Jesus could give you life and give it abundantly.  Don't let it be all for naught.  Show Jesus you care....you love....him....you are grateful for him and everyone who came before....and all that they did....that it will not be all for naught....worthless....worth nothing.  Give them....and Jesus....value through your choices, your actions, your loving and your living....your life....as you live it for and with Christ Jesus.  Don't let your life be cut short....don't allow yourself to be killed between the altar and the sanctuary.  Enter in to the inner room of Jesus' heart.  To that sacred place where all is healed and made well.  From which you can go forth praising God, Jesus and Holy Spirit with thanksgiving and telling the world, he lives, and he can live in them....just like he can now live in you.  Ask him in or ask him in again....today....right now.

"How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law!  For you hide the key to the knowledge from the people.  You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering."  In the state of Maine, according to a cozy mystery I've read, and watching Murder She Wrote over the years, they have an affirmative saying, "Ah yup".

I've known Priests, Pastors and Ministers who have chosen not to talk about the Holy Spirit for fear of an uprising in the church that they cannot control.  A fear of an unknown.  How they can consider God's or Jesus' Holy Spirit to be an unknown, I've no clue.  Control?  Shouldn't control be up to God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and not us?  That's part of the point!

There are vast documents and scrolls that have been in existence for YEARS since Jesus walked and before that are not a part of the Bible.  And yet, there are those in Christian churches who are aghast that anyone could possibly say these things....that the Bible as we know it is the ONLY word of God.  It is NOT.  It is the only compiled word of God.  People are afraid of what they might learn, too.  WHY?  I want to know everything I can about Jesus....his life....his walk....his words.  People say he is perfect, never got mad.  Then why did he kick over the moneychangers tables outside the Temple?  That was anger!  Do you not hear his anger in his emphatic statements in todays lesson?  Does it make him imperfect, if he is angry?  Does it disallow him to be a Savior....THE Savior....if he is found to be angry?  That's nonsense.  Does it make him any less our Savior if he is found to be human?  HE WAS!  Or if his earthly father was not Joseph?  Or if he beat some kid up as a child?  These are things that we can learn when we seek the whole truth....who he was, how he lived his life.  God sent us Jesus as a man....a human....for a purpose.  To show that even WE can follow the way, the light and the truth of God.  Not in perfection, but in imperfection.  And be forgiven of our sins, and receive eternal life.  Kind of like God was saying, 'if HE can do it, anybody can'.  A wink and a smiley face here   ;  ) .

And there are those Priests, Pastors, and Ministers who talk the talk but do NOT walk the walk.  And I'm not talking about just those whose pictures and stories are in the news.  Jesus certainly pointed out the Pharisees in todays lesson.  Some leaders lord over others, but have not received THE LORD in truth and light in their own life.  They are in the ministry for the money, or the admiration, etc.  And it is VERY sad.  Scary in fact.  I've been in a few churches I've nearly wanted to run from, but felt called to help in.  I have run from others and for extremely good reasons.  Beware.....!  Align what you hear with scripture.  If it doesn't align with scripture, find out why.  Is it just your lack of understanding?  Is it because it's hogwash?

One minister I listened to, in the church he presided over, was preaching....but not on the scriptures he was giving.  And no one opened their Bible (I did) or knew the WORD enough to confront him.  I did confront him.  And the Session board over him.  And all hek broke loose.  I lived through it, but not before he slashed my tires and threatened me.  A PASTOR/MINISTER!  I was attacked verbally and affected emotionally by the Session board, who told me I knew more about the Bible than they did.....shame on them for not knowing the WORD.  And that's only PART of the story.  The rest included that he was having an adulterous affair, lied through his teeth, abused his wife, who he said I couldn't talk to, but since she was married when he was called to the ministry, she was also called, and was no less my pastor at the time.  Blah blah blah.  Be wary.

Be sure you are hearing the WORD of GOD....read the Bible!  And read everything else you can get your hands on about Christianity, Jesus, the Apostles, etc.  Did you know that the Catholic Church, after Nicea, sought to kill, and did kill, most of those who had read the documents that were in contradiction or that stated something other than what they wanted to say in the Bible....the altered word of God....is perhaps what the Bible should have been called.  They burned down whole monasteries to destroy all the original documents that would be contrary to what they wanted to have conveyed.  This is actual documented history.  The facts.

When you go to a church, do they read the scriptures in whole or in part?  What's up with the parts they leave out?  Sometimes it is merely about it not being a part of the message, but a comment to the message and a Pastor may not want the content to be confused.  Yet, 'text out of context is pretext'.  That means that if you take part of something away, it is as if it never existed in the first place.  Many times you will see or read a one liner somewhere.  Like John 3:16.  Great.  What else needs to be conveyed in that chapter?  Or a one liner taken by itself may have an entirely different meaning than when it is taken in the whole context of the chapter or structured story.

In the ways I mentioned above as examples, were like those Jesus was referring to, as how those in religious law may hide the keys to knowledge, don't enter the Kingdom themselves, and prevent others from entering.

The last paragraph is truly telling:  'As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees and teachers of religious law were furious.  From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.'

He was right to call them 'Fools!'.  They couldn't use anything that he had said thus far against him because it was all true.  How sad.  Don't be like the Pharisees.  Model your life after and be like Jesus!

Let Us Pray

Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world...please forgive me of my sins.  Thank you.  God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, please teach me all the things you need for me to know....open wide the doors of knowledge and wisdom, so that I and others may be able to share what we learn with others to help folks along the journey you set for all of us.  Let me never become complacent in my knowing, or hide what I know.  Let me never lord over others, but point the way to THE ONE LORD and SAVIOR, you, Jesus.  Help me to always be respectful, generous, and loving.  Willing to receive the gifts you choose to give.  Keep me most importantly, clean on the inside....as well as the outside of my being.  So many lessons today....let my focus be first on you, that I may see all others through your eyes....and love them still....just as you do....just as you love me in my imperfections.  Enter in to the sanctuary of my heart, that you may become the altar upon which the whole of my life is offered to you in love.  Thank you for living for me and dying for me, and loving me still.  I love you, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  Thank you again.  Amen.

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.

Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this:

I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

  Our Current Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you!

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

   Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
