   Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son
and
Holy Spirit the Comforter and Teacher.

We believe that God made the heavens and the earth,
and gave all creatures His son, Jesus,
who died on the cross to forgive our sins
 and
to give us eternal life.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, he is now seated at God’s right hand,
 and
that God gave us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

***

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth.  He gave us His Son, who died on a cross to allow our sins to be forgiven and give us eternal life becoming our Lord and Savior.  When Jesus died, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1:1
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity into your life and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Please come into my life, heal me and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you to love you, and others, as you love me.  So I can love myself.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

***

If you have prayed this prayer, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who I call ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

***

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends."

Call The Evil Spirits Out !

Luke 8: 26 - 39

Luke

So they arrived in the land of the Gerasenes, across the lake from Galilee.  As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons came out to meet him.  Homeless and naked, he had lived in a cemetery for a long time.  As soon as he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell to the ground before him, screaming, "Why are you bothering me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?  Please, I beg you, don't torture me!"  For Jesus had already commanded the evil spirit to come out of him.  This spirit had often taken control of the man.  Even when he was shackled with chains, he simply broke them, and rushed out into the wilderness, completely under the demon's power.

"What is your name?" Jesus asked.

"Legion," he replied - for the man was filled with many demons.  The demons kept begging Jesus not to send them into the Bottomless Pit.  A large herd of pigs was feeding on the hillside nearby, and the demons pleaded with him to let them enter into the pigs.  Jesus gave them permission.  So the demon came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake, where they drowned.

When the herdsmen saw it, they fled to the nearby city and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran.  A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, for they wanted to see for themselves what had happened.  And they saw the man who had been possessed by demons sitting quietly at Jesus' feet, clothed and sane.   And the whole crowd was afraid.  Then those who had seen what happened told the others how the demon possessed man had been healed.  And all the people in that region begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, for a great wave of fear swept over them.

So Jesus returned to the boat and left, crossing back to the other side of the lake.  The man who had been demon possessed begged to go, too, but Jesus said, "No, go back to your family and tell them all the wonderful things God has done for you."  So he went all through the city telling about the great thing Jesus had done for him.

Thoughts.....

It's not everyday we have to deal with situations as radical as Jesus did.  On the other hand, look around you.  Look within you.  Have their been moments when you've gone 'wide-eyed' wondering 'what is with that person'?  Have you had moments when you've thought, 'what is wrong with me, why did I do that'?  Now that I am approaching 60, I don't know whether I need to blame my hormones, my 'gray hair cognition', a medical explanation, or say 'the devil made me do it'.  Most times I have laughing moments and ask God to help me, or say 'saints preserve me' like a great Aunt probably might have said.  But in this reference, 'serious' is the name of the game.  As it is with a woman I know who is going through a horrendous crisis.  As it obviously was with the naked and homeless man who met Jesus on the shore.

We're told by Luke that Jesus already commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man.  That the spirit had often taken control of the man.  What we don't know is when Jesus rebuked the spirit.  [Please note that in the Bible when spirit is not capitalized, it usually refers to spirits of Satan.....his assigns.]  It could mean that Jesus had rebuked the spirits before and they were just hardy enough to hang in there, so he had to do it again.  It could mean Jesus saw the guy coming and had warded him off with a verbal command or silent prayer.  OBVIOUSLY it wasn't enough.  He had to go back through the door, so to speak.  He had to rebuke the spirits again, command them to come out of the man.  Let this be a lesson.  Many times we may think we get something right and have to do it again.  The same is true with prayer.  Sometimes we need to approach God again, or do what is called 'soaking prayer' when we keep the prayer before God for a length of solid time.  With rebuking, the same can be said.  Kind of like going in for a root canal and not all the root is gone, the exposed root causes pain, so the Dr. has to go back in to get the rest.

Even the spirits knew Jesus.  Though the words came through the man, the voices belonged to at least one of the spirits. The power these spirits had....to disrobe a man, leave him in a cemetery, able to brake shackled chains, running amuck.  What have you seen spirits do to those around you, even within yourself?  Anything that is not of God is of Satan....so if you are making choices NOT in alignment with what God dictates through scripture, the devil's got a hold of you, too.  I've said many times, if it doesn't align with scripture, it is not of God.  Be very wise in your choice making.

The demons within Legion spoke forth begging Jesus not to send them into the Bottomless Pit.  Frankly, I think that is where they all need to go and do not fully understand why Jesus listened to the demons and granted their wish to enter the pigs.  Being an animal lover got my activist juices flowing over this one.  But he needed to show the crowds.  If he just rebuked the spirits or demons (same things) to the Bottomless Pit....so named Hell....no one would SEE them go, and, they might think the guy is only temporarily healed....or 'messing with their minds', when he calmed down.  Jesus decided it was time for a pictoral lesson.  Some people learn by reading and some by seeing, and some get reinforcement of their reading by seeing.  So, he showed them.  All of them.  Certainly it would help Legion know he had been released....freed....finally.  It also reinforced Jesus ministry, his word, proved his credibility, his integrity.  Others could not have helped but get this lesson from the drama.

So the pigs ran off into the water and drowned.  Interestingly, the demons drowned the pigs, but because they did not go to the Bottomless Pit/Hell, it left them with the ability to enter elsewhere.  Fish maybe....I don't like fish, won't eat it, get sick smelling it, so I think this is a good idea in some ways....but remember I am an animal/critter,etc. activist and lover, so not in all ways.  Getting back to 'entering elsewhere'....in reality, once a body dies, the spirit is released.  In the Christian world, we have the opportunity for our spirits to be released to Heaven through salvation and showing God that, we are who we say we are, by what we do and how we live our lives.  For those who are not Christian in fullness and truth, those who are in/of Satan's world, of those spirits that are released.....some go elsewhere....to other bodies, some go to hell.  Those bodies, we are shown here, are not necessarily human bodies, but can be.  Weird stuff, I know.

In the spiritual world, many times folks will pray for other folks. Jesus was strengthened and confident.  In quietness he could rebuke.  When folks pray for others, it is paramount that God's armor is in place, as I've talked about previously (Eph 6:10-18).  If you don't put on that armor, the devil and his assigns can just as easily jump into you with untold number of problems as is happening to the woman I know.  She was a powerful prayer warrior.  Nothing and no one got in her way.  But she forgot to protect herself fully.  Now she is in a spiritual battle for her life....literally.  And I suspect her marriage, however, knowing what spirits can do, she may be delusionally unaware of the fullness of the ramifactions that are taking over.  Truly the guy in the cemetery didn't, since he was running around naked.  This is a battle bar none for the woman I know and her family, as I am sure it was for Legion and his family.

I need to say something here.  Not every disease will be categorized as spiritual, but some can be.  In the mental health industry, since it is structured as a non-spiritual, certainly not fully Christian, but wholly, or in part, secularly human, the CHRISTIAN spirituality avenue is considered essentially bogus.  Here a Christian can fully understand the separation of God from science.  Is there validity to science?  Absolutely.  Is there validity to Christianity?  Absolutely.  But sometimes, never the twain should meet.  I've seen a lot of harm done in labeling by the mental health industry and drugs handed out.  I've also seen harm done with folks 'exorcising demons'.  Buyer beware so to speak.  I've seen folks in a psych ward that are clearly evil spiritually embodied and over drugged, who needed rebuking and prayer.  I've seen folks in churches that most assuredly needed some mental health help by human standards, but who could have been helped by prayer and rebuking if they'd allow it through their 'humanistic' standards.

When rebuking spirits, be fully armored.  And send them all to the Bottomless Pit, also called hell.  It is the safest way.  If you know folks who are suffering from what you believe are misplaced spirits, offer to rebuke them, if you are armored and with confidence are strengthened in God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and the above conditions are not met, 'do not try this at home'.  If you are rebuking for yourself, pray a prayer of protection over everyone around you first and foremost (do this even if you pray for others).  Then start naming and rebuking.  Example:  'Dear God, I claim protection for myself and all those around me [be sure to include any pets around you].  Spirit of intolerance (paranoia, mental confusion, stomach ache, cancer, etc.) I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and command you to come out of me [or name the person, if you are praying for someone else] and be cast into the depths of hell, never to return.  Holy Spirit, please enter and fill to overflowing all those areas now left void by Satan and his assigns leaving, so they can never enter those areas again.  In Jesus name I pray with God, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.'

You may laugh at the pet protection, but Jesus gave us an example that demons can even enter pigs.  It is not uncommon to have birds outside all of a sudden, as a flock, fly away when rebuking spirits.  Or bunnies run wild.  Protect all of God's creatures who surround you.  It is not necessary to prove to anyone else that 'you have the power'.  This isn't about you, it's about being there for God.  You don't need drama.  You have God.

In scripture, we learn that the herdsmen saw what happened to their pigs and the man and they spread the news as they ran.  Oh, if EVERYONE TODAY would run to tell about Jesus and his miracles!!!  What are you doing to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

A crowd gathered to see what had happened and they saw the man who had been possessed by demons sitting quietly at Jesus' feet, clothed and sane.  How wonderful that he now wanted to hear the words of the Master.  I had a friend who died recently from cardiac failure at 52.  She had Schizophrenia....per the mental health industry.  She was highly functioning.  Per the Christian realm, she had many evil spirits.  But she prayed earnestly, bowing down before her Savior.  When with her Lord, she found peace, sat quietly, served reverently and with devotion.  Was the best dressed, and quite sane, as she went about her unpaid duties in the church from the moment the church opened until it closed at night.  I wish everyone who relied on her, knew her, was blessed by her, knew the terrors that she suffered in her life and how empowered and blessed she was with her Lord and Savior....and healed.  Not in all ways, but in most.  She was excited for when she would get to heaven, be in his arms....safe and fully loved....completely healed.  So often we label and use or abuse those around us.  I wish, as I believe God does, that you would look within others to find Jesus in them, and if not, help them to find him.  As with Legion, and my friend, knowing Jesus made all the difference in their lives.  Jesus called the evil spirits out...you need to do the same.

The crowd was afraid.  All the people in the region of Gerasenes begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone.  A great fear had swept over them, scripture indicates.  How could they not see that his power was for good and not bad?  Maybe because the pigs were destroyed?  Surely couldn't have helped to put bread...or meat....on the herdsman's dinner table.  But how sad they couldn't see the healing power of God through him as he healed a man ill for years.  How he was going to rectify a bunch of dead pigs remains to be seen, because he left the area.  Poor Jesus, back and forth and back and forth....he was always having to leave somewhere for 'creating havoc'.  If only they could see the actions of God in their midst!  In one of the books found many years ago about Jesus' life, I learned he was quite the brute as a child bumping off folks left and right, avenging for having been 'attacked'.  Many were upset by his actions.  And as an adult, he was still not making people happy.  Can you imagine how alone he must have felt in a crowd?  I can.

So Jesus decided to go back across the lake again.  And the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him.  Maybe my friend begged to be with Jesus, too.  But Jesus said, 'No, go back to your family and tell them all the wonderful things God has done for you."  My friend's family didn't live here. And she couldn't get back home due to her cardiac condition. They hadn't really known her for years.  If they only knew the woman I and some of the others around her knew.  If they'd only heard her testimony.  I've tried to tell them.  Some people still refuse to believe, even after they hear of miracles.  That is why Jesus allowed the demons into the pigs, it served the purpose of teaching a healing miracle.  Maybe that is why my friend's son has been given a son who was diagnosed at age 6 with schizophrenia.  Maybe he's refused to believe and is about to be shown some miracles to teach him a new way of loving....certainly a new way of living.  When Jesus does things for you, heals you or gives you another type of blessing, do you tell others, your family, about all the wonderful things God has done for you?

Another note....Jesus didn't tell the man, "Go tell everyone what I have done for you.  He told him to 'go back to your family and tell them all the wonderful things GOD has done for you."  I want you to get into the mindset of realizing that even tho' we may be the one praying for someone and rebuking demons out of folks, it is not we, me, I, you, who is doing all the wonderful things.  It is GOD through us.  Jesus makes that clear here.  It is paramount, and I've said it before, it is not us doing something wonderful, we are merely vessels through which God, Jesus and Holy Spirit work.  Can they do it by themselves?  Yup.  But sometimes, like the story here, we need to see to believe.  Even if we already believe, which we must be, if we are enacting our faith by praying and rebuking.  Sometimes God needs to further fortify us, help us be strengthened and more confident, so our quietness is not mistaken for being numb or dumb, but is humility.  And many times he needs to use us to further the cause of the Kingdom of God....to bring others to him.

Lastly, Jesus had told the man to go tell his family.  And then we learn that he went all through the city telling about the great thing Jesus had done for him.  A couple thoughts on this.  One, he may have told his family already, or they may have been told by someone else, or been there experiencing the whole action.  Two, he went throughout the city telling about the great thing Jesus had done for him.  We cannot assume he was disobedient because it didn't mention him telling his family.  We also must realize that not everyone has a family.  Maybe the folks in the city befriended him throughout his ordeal, so he may have felt they were like family.  He also wanted to share out of excitement, and couldn't help but tell everyone, I am presuming.  But certainly he told it on the shores, if not the mountains. You know....'go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere'.....just like we are supposed to do.  What have God, Jesus, Holy Spirit done for you?  What spirits have been removed from your life that you can give thanks for and tell others about?  Do you need to call evil spirits out of your own life?  Do you know others who need God and you in their life to call evil spirits out to make a difference?  Is God calling you to help?  Answer his call today.  Give your testimony....share your story....and stories of others you know that will help folks want God in their life....want Jesus as their Lord and Savior.....want to be healed....want to receive Holy Spirit in their life TODAY!

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit I claim protection for my family and all the creatures around me.  Heal me in all the ways I need to be healed.  Please remove from me anything that is not of you.  Now please fill those areas to overflowing with your Holy Spirit that are left void by Satan and his assigns leaving, so that he and they can never enter those areas again.  Let me be a living testimony to your healing and loving.  Thank you for giving me your gifts, Holy Spirit, to help others.  Help me, in quietness, be strengthened and have confidence, as I reach out and call the evil spirits out.  Thank you for all the manifestations of you in my life....my ability to love and willingness to be loved; my health...wellness, and helping others gain it; wealth....sharing what I have and receiving all you desire for me to have from the Kingdom of God, to help me further the work of the Holy Spirit, as I reach out to help make disciples.  And more....all the things you are manifesting as we speak.  Whether I have evidence of it or not YET, I know you are acting in my life fully.  Thank you.  May I always be able to cast evil out, and, do the will of you, Heavenly Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, as I am called.  Please open the hearts and the minds of those who joined us today to receive all you choose for them to learn and grow.  May you manifest all the workings of the Holy Spirit in their lives and give to them as richly as you are giving to me.  Knowing that everything we can get through us, we can get to us, I ask you to have them pray for me, as I pray for them.  May we reach all to teach all about who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  Thank you for giving me life, for dying for me, for loving me, and caring for me all these years, continuing to do so, and at my end, carrying me to my new home in heaven, which I pray won't be for a long time yet.  I have a lot more work for you to do here on earth.....I hope.  I love you.  Thank you.  Amen.

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

  Our Current Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Now and always, the Church of the Holy Spirit needs your support.  I pray you will find it in your heart to give today.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you!

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.
