  Imagine This.....

Luke 6: 17 - 19

AMBER ALERT :  Isabel Celis Age 6 MISSING from Tucson, AZ

PLEASE Continue To PRAY

Luke

When they came down the slopes of the mountain, the disciples stood with Jesus on a large, level area, surrounded by many of his followers and by the crowds.  There were people from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from as far north as the seacoasts of Tyre and Sidon.  They had come to hear him and to be healed, and Jesus cast out many evil spirits.  Everyone was trying to touch him, because healing power went out from him, and they were all cured.

Thoughts.....

Reread this paragraph and then close your eyes and read it through your mind's eye.

How tall is the mountain that you see?  Is it green or brown, lots of vegetation or not?  How large was the crowd?  How many languages can you hear being spoken?  How many dialects?  Do you see men, women and children?  Any animals?  Can you hear the cry of the birds nearby?  What kind of day is it?  Is it warm, cool, cold?  Is the air heavy with humidity from a recent rain or dry with clear skies?  Do you feel the anticipation and excitement in the air?  Any fear, intrepidation?  Can you breathe the hope, the promise in Jesus' words?  Are you one with an evil spirit and in need of healing?  Will you reach out to touch him for your healing....or wait until he touches you?  Is your life on the line?  Your spirit dashed and in need of the life only he can give?  Do you truly believe with your heart and soul that he, Jesus, can heal your mind, body, spirit, soul?  Are you really ready for a new life?  Are you ready to be healed and go and sin no more?  Tell him now.

You don't have to go back in time.  But in order to go forward eternally, you must reach out to Jesus.  There is salvation in  no other.  The only way to get to heaven is through him.  True healing only exists in his arms....by his touch....with his love.

The people that went to Jesus that day came from all over.  They walked or rode many many miles to see this man....Jesus.  Savior, Messiah, Prophet, Healer.....and more.  It wasn't like today where you can turn on a computer, Tv, make a call, turn around with a church on nearly every street corner, hop in your car.  The people traveled vast wildernesses over long distances taking much time to see Jesus.....to hear him preach to their hearts, listen to his teaching lessons, feel his touch and the healing therein.  How far would you go to see him, hear him, be healed?

Would you go as far as to stop cussing, smoking, lying, cheating, abusing others?  Would you go as far as to put down that book and be productive for yourself, those around you, him......?  Would you go as far as to stop being a part of that gang that pulls you down instead of lifts you up?  Would you go so far as to share with the inmate next to you what you have learned....so that person can grow, too, and be healed?  Would you go as far as to read your Bible during your breaks or lunch at the workplace?  Maybe even share what you've learned?  Would you go as far as not spending $900 for a blouse or putting in an elevator for your cars because the poor are NOT having their needs met and you could help by giving the money to them instead?  Would you go as far as saying you are sorry for bumping into someone?  Would you go as far as helping someone nearby?  Imagine this......what would you do to see Jesus, hear what he has to say, follow him, be healed by him and do for him?  After all, he gave up his life for you.  He died on a cross to save you.

According to the 'Infancy Gospel of Thomas', even as a child he healed.....see chapters 9, 10, 17, 18.  How old are you?  What have you done in God's name/for him throughout your life?  If you haven't done much, maybe it is time to start.  Start with Jesus.  Read the New Testament....learn more about him and why you might want to choose him as your Savior...THE Savior of the world.  Learn what your role is in the Kingdom of Heaven.   Become full to overflowing with everything he has to give you.  Imagine this......you complete.  And grateful.  And giving back to him with gratitude....by reaching out to the world for him.  Imagine this.....how grateful he will be.

Imagine Jesus coming down the slopes of the mountain now.....

Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble? *

Could this be the land of the free?  Could this be the land of the free?

Let salvation's wave crash on these shores again.  And the tide of Your great love come rushing in.

Could this be the land of the free?

Did you feel the mountains tremble?  Did you hear the oceans roar....

When the people rose to sing of...Jesus Christ the risen one?

Did you feel the people tremble?  Did you hear the singers roar....

When the lost began to sing of....Jesus Christ, the saving one?

And we can see that, God, You're moving....A might river through the nations....

When young and old return to Jesus.

Fling wide, you heavenly gates.  Prepare the way of the risen Lord.  Prepare the way.

Open up the doors and let the music play.  Let the streets resound with singing.

Songs that bring Your hope.  Songs that bring Your joy.

Dancers who dance upon injustice.

Did you feel the darkness tremble....When all the saints join in one song....

And all the streams flow as one river....To wash away our brokenness?

And here we see that, God, You're moving.  A time of jubilee is coming....

When young and old return to Jesus.

Fling wide, you heavenly gates.  Prepare the way of the risen Lord.//

Healing Rain**

Healing rain is coming down.  It's coming nearer to this old town.

Rich and poor, weak and strong....It's bringing mercy, it won't be long.

Healing rain is coming down.  It's coming closer to the lost and found.

Tears of joy and tears of shame....Are washed forever in Jesus' name.

Healing rain, it comes with fire.  So let it fall and take us higher.

Healing rain, I'm not afraid....To be washed in Heaven's rain.

Lift your heads, let us return....To the mercy seat where time began.

And in your eyes I see the pain.  Come soak this dry heart with healing rain.

And only You, the Son of man....Can take a leper and let him stand.

So lift your hands, they can be held....By someone greater, the Great I AM.

Healing rain is falling down.  Healing rain is falling down.  I'm not afraid.  I'm not afraid.//

Let Us Pray

Dear God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, right now I pray that you will be with Isabel Celis and her family, Lord.  Keep her safe and help her get back to her family alive.  Reach into the mind of the person who has her and help that person to do the right thing from this point forward.  Help this person understand this situation does not have to end any more worse, or badly for anyone.  Let this person run and hide if necessary, but compel this person to return the precious child, Isabel, or take her someplace safe, so someone else can help her get home.  Please be with all law enforcement, as they reach out for a miracle as well.  Lord hear my prayers....it is time for a miracle, Lord.  Please grant this family the miracle they need.  Embrace this family fully in their pain, sorrow, fear and grief.  May everyone be on alert watching out to help Isabel.  In Jesus' name I pray, to dear Heavenly Father, God, by and with the power of the Holy Spirit.  Amen

Dear God, I imagine the mountains trembling as Jesus trod to the valley floor.  And what a great work he did....thank you, Jesus.  And I thank you everyday for my life and my life to come.  I can imagine how great heaven will be.  Thank you for forgiving me, healing me, teaching me, giving me lessons for the journey ahead, your Holy Spirit that I may go forth in your name, to bring you glory Lord.  Please continue the work you have started in me....don't ever leave my side.....my heart, my mind, being within the wholeness of my body.  Let my life be about doing as you have done for all those you put in front of me.  I'm ready to receive your love, thank you for receiving mine.  I imagine I can feel your touch.  Help me do for you to show my gratitude.  And sing and dance because of you and with you.  And I'm ready for your healing rain.  Help me prepare the way for you.  Let the time of jubilee arrive!  I can imagine this!  Thank you!  Alleluia and Amen!

More love....

  Benediction....Blessing

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

  Our Current Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you!

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

  Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
