 What Would You Do?

 The Triumphal Entry

Matthew

He is humble, riding on a donkey - even on a donkey's colt.

Thoughts.....

If you knew you were going to die, what would you do?

Would you know who you are?  Matthew 2l:5

Would your name be praised for being of the Lord?  Matthew 21:9

How would others know you?  Matthew 21:11

Would you be bold enough to speak out for God?  Matthew 21:13

Would what you do and say be a balm of healing to others?  Matthew 21:14

Would you be known and loved by children...those with the purest discernment?  Matthew 21:16

Would you be teaching others about great faith, the kind that can move mountains, and how to pray?  Matthew 21:21

Would others know who is your authority is?  Matthew 21:23-26

Would you even believe......in God?  Matthew 21:27

You can't stop now.....or ever.

Jesus knew all these things and more.  He didn't stop working, didn't stop going forth in life, didn't sit down on his laurels.  He didn't say "I can't".  He said "I will" and "I do".  'Do' is an action verb.

Are you acting on what you know to be true...Jesus is the Lord, King, Prince of Peace?

Do you know that he is?

Are you stepping forth in his name to do the will of the Father:  God?

We are called to emulate Jesus....do as he has done....give glory to God as we walk our journey.

You might say, "I'm not dying".  Aren't you?  At this very moment your cellular structure...that which your whole body is made of...is dying off and rebuilding, or it is replicating at a very fast speed killing other cells in it's path.  Everyone's plateau is different.  Accidents happen.  As I've said probably hundreds....maybe thousands...of times before 'Your end time may come before THE end times'.

Are you ready?

How will The Father....God....know you?

Will he bother to even look at you?

As we live out the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, as we take steps he took in honor, think about whether your life brings honor to God - whether HE will praise you.  Because....

Life should not be about whether others will praise you, but whether you are being praised in heaven.

Humble yourself this day and learn how Jesus walked.

Read Matthew 21:1 - 26:35.  Then ask yourself, "Will, I, too, deny Jesus this day?  Or will I do as he has done?

DOES and WILL my life reflect that he is in me?

DO I live for him?

IS he is LORD over my life?

DO I walk with THE Father....God?

Am I humbly worthy of God's praise for the love I've shown him and to other in his name?

Don't know what love it?  Read about Jesus.  Read what he says in the New Testament.  Learn how he loves and does for The Father who sent him....as he also sends you.

Be ready, like Jesus, to live and die for and with God.  Lay down your life for another...Jesus.  Today.

Show God how this is done on earth, as you lay your life down for others.  NOT to be trampled, but to raise them up....to him!

Share Jesus with others today.  Share who he is.  LORD, King, Prince of Peace.  Man of love.

Be as the woman who anointed Jesus, so he can say about you, "I assure you, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman's [man's] deed will be talked about in her [his] memory."  Matthew 26:13

Remember Jesus' triumphal entry EVERY day, not just once a year.  Bring God and Jesus honor by going forth humbly with love.

Teach, and heal, and pray, and go...forth in his name....the name of the LORD.  Blessed are you who come in the name of the Lord!  Bless the one (JESUS!) who comes in the name of the Lord!  Hosanna in the highest.  Alleluia!

Let Us Pray

"Then they will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?'  And he will answer, 'I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.'  And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life."  (Matthew 25:44)  Dear God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I have just read this...what you said.  I am concerned that I have not been worthy of your love, your forgiveness, eternal life.  Please forgive me, I humbly repent.  I pray you will help me live a life worthy of receiving your love, forgiveness, eternal life.  I guess you have been helping me, I just have not been paying attention, listening, doing...for you.  All that will change now.  I get it.  So from this day forward, I will strive to do all things to comfort you....not me.  I am not perfect, so please forgive me in advance.  I will love as you love, forgive as you forgive.  I will share who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are with others.  I will do all I can to raise them up....to you....for you.  I will do it humbly and with love.  I will go forth in your name teaching and healing and praying.  I will let others know who you have been to me, my Lord and my Savior.  How you comfort me.  (Psalm 23)  I will share your good works in me.  The truth of your healing touches in my life.  The gift of your love for me.  So that others may want you in their life.  I will do all I can to bring you glory.  And I will thank you as I do now.....thank you.  For everything.  For who you are, how you've loved me, and what you have done for me and will continue to do for me.  Thank you....thank you so much....eternally.  I want so much to have eternal life.  Thank you for showing me the way.  Thank you for walking the walk so that I might have the opportunity to receive the gifts...of forgiveness, mercy, and eternal life.  Thank you for giving me examples of how to live to bring honor and glory to you and God.  I have only to implement those actions in my own life.  Let me do so starting today.  This minute.  Right now.  May today mark the beginning of my humble triumphal entry into eternal life.....and may it be years away yet....so that I can do much more for you on earth.  Thank you again....may you receive all the glory.  I praise you Jesus, God, Holy Spirit!  Alleluia.  Amen.

More love....

  Benediction...Blessing

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

"Go and make disciples out of all the nations

baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this:

I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

  Our Current Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you!

    One last thing....

 Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rhythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

  Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
