  Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son
and
Holy Spirit the Comforter and Teacher.

We believe that God made the heavens and the earth,
and gave all creatures His son, Jesus,
who died on the cross to forgive our sins
 and
to give us eternal life.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, he is now seated at God’s right hand,
 and
that God gave us Holy Spirit to teach, comfort, and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

***

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth.  He gave us His Son, who died on a cross to allow our sins to be forgiven and give us eternal life becoming our Lord and Savior.  When Jesus died, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1:1
Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3
Holy Spirit:  John 15:26

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity into your life and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Please come into my life, heal me and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you to love you, and others, as you love me.  So I can love myself.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit, dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

***

If you have prayed this prayer, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who I call ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.”

 Hebrews 13: 1-25

  Paul's Concluding Words

Hebrews

Continue to love each other with true Christian hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!  Don't forget about those in prison.  Suffer with them as though you feel their pain in your own bodies.

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage.  God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have.  For God has said, "I will never fail you, I will never forsake you."  That is why we can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?"

Remember your leaders who first taught you the word of God.  Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and trust the Lord as they do.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas.  Your spiritual strength comes from God's special favor, not from ceremonial rules about food, which don't help those who follow them.

We have an altar from which the priests in theTemple on earth have no right to eat.  Under the system of Jewish laws, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, but the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp.  So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates in order to make his people holy by shedding his own blood.  So let us go out to him outside the camp and bear the disgrace he bore.  For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come.

With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name.  Don't forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God.

Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say.  Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God.  Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow.  That would certainly not be for you benefit.

Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do.  I especially need your prayers right now so that I can come back to you soon.

And now, may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing his will.  May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, all that is pleasing to him. Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep by an everlasting covenant, signed with his blood.  To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, please listen carefully to what I have said in this brief letter.

I want you to know that our brother Timothy is now out of jail.  If he comes here soon, I will bring him with me to see you.

Give my greetings to all your leaders and to the other believers there.  The Christians from Italy send you their greetings.

May God's grace be with you all.

Thoughts...

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there...whether you are a Mom of a 2 legged human, a 4 legged fuzzy, a 2 winged bird or other child.  We uplift you for prayer, embrace you with love, and honor you for all you do.  May this day be a blessing to you as you have blessed others.

Paul's words today to the Hebrews and to us are varied.  Let's start from the top and work our way through to learn more.

In order to continue to love, we must first engage in the act of loving...so start...loving everybody...even those you don't want to love.  We must love.  We must embrace everyone as our brother and sister first and foremost.  But please keep in mind he was speaking to those who were already Christians.  We don't have to like those we love, but we have to love them as Christ loves them.  I know....I hear you....some people are really difficult to love...even those professing Christianity.  Paul does not tell us we have to receive their love.  Nor do we have to enter into a relationship with them.  We are to see in them Christ and love him in them.  Does that make it a little easier?  In church last week I mentioned something like 'sometimes we have to get into people's faces while twisting and turning our heads and looking in their eyes, say, "Hey, are you in there God, because I don't seeeeee you?!"'  Some people are bears...but aren't we sometimes?  I know I can be difficult.  Like this morning when I could not get into the internet.  I was downright growly....my animals surely thought I had lost my dog biscuits.  Thanks to a couple dear friends, I am able to transmit this morning.  All Christians, and we know non-Christians, struggle.  If we as Christians cannot give an example of how we are loved and how we are to love, why would  those who are not Christians want to have anything to do with us...or God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit?

So have you entertained strangers?  Did you later learn they were angels?  I have.  So many times.  I am amazed at how God enters into encounters.  I am always trying to help someone.  Or just saying hi to anyone.  And low and behold, I am in the presence of God through an angel.  And bowled over by the love returned, if even a hug, or a smile, or a small act of kindness in return.  And sometimes, I will do nothing, and be blessed by someone.  Sometimes it overwhelms me to know that God is truly every where.  Of course I've always known this, but it still amazes me.  If you get the chance....you know you will...entertain a stranger.  Don't do it to see what will happen.  Do it just to do it...for them...for God.

Remember those in prison.  Usually when we think of prison, we think of someplace that houses someone who has done wrong.  That is a great place to start.  Those in prison may or may not have done wrong, but how much do they all need prayer to find God, or return to God, and be forgiven by God?  And there are senior citizens in their homes, many without Tv now.  And children in hospitial beds.  Kids who are sick and have to stay home from school and cannot play.  Women who are imprisoned in relationships they cannot extricate themselves from.  Men who are imprisoned in their minds of control and manipulation.  And visa versa.  Poor people who cannot see the next day financially.  Wealthy who cannot look beyond themselves.  People who are ill or dying and lost in a maze of medical 'help'.  Folks, there are many prisons in life...your own mind can be a prison from which you may need to escape and free your heart.  Pray for those in prisons of their own doing or undoing.  And for all those who are mistreated.  As if you are the one suffering...pray as if your soul depends on it...with the passion and ache you would pray and plead for yourself, is how you are to pray for another.

Gee, it appears this may be a long day.  Please forgive the start delays and bear with God and me.  Thanks.

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.  Oh boy, here's a hot bed....no pun intended.  Ladies and Gentlemen...I admonish you in the name of the Savior Jesus Christ, Father God Almighty, and Holy Spirit to pay close attention.  HONOR.  Are you in a relationship whereby you are merely living with another?  Get out or get legally married.  You are by the nature of God, if you call yourself a Christian, married spiritually.  You sin against your partner, if you are acting as if you are not legally married.  You sin against God, and cause any number of chatisements/punishments to come from God.  Think you are not being punished?  You may not feel all the good things happening to you are punishment.  But are they from the ever living ever loving God, or, have you, as I have mentioned before, been talking the talk and not walking the walk?  Are you even of God?  How can you be of God and not follow his commands?  You bring sin against those others who don't even know that you are co-habitating...and even more those who do.  You cause the label of adulterer and sexually immoral to be placed upon not only yourself, but the others you 'reach out to'.  Be careful.  No....CHANGE YOUR WAYS.  Make better choices for yourself and your live-in lover.  Manipulation and control is not of God.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have.  TRUST!  Believe!  Expect that God will do what he says he will do...be there for you always.  And tythe!  It is an action of trust.  He will richly bless you for it.  No money?  No problem.  Tythe you time and talents.  He will bless you still...maybe even more.  Do not fear....bill collectors or anyone else.  God will make a way if you trust and believe....'there's no other way', as the song of old goes.

Paul tells us to remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you, to consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.  WOW.  Good words.  Who taught you about God?  Can you look back and see how they lived?  Were they right in their hearts?  Did God bless them?  I'm not speaking of mansions, many cars and lots of money necessarily.  Did they feel the love of God so deep in their hearts?  Did you feel it coming from them?  Were you blessed by their prayers, their love, their presence? Some of the financially poorest people I have known have been some of the most spiritually rich folk I have known in Christ.  And I can tell you, when in their presence, I have felt annointed.  But I've also felt blessed listening to BiIly Graham, Kenneth Copeland and Joyce Meyer who are financially rich and profoundly spiritual.  Whether you are in fields of the plains, in the mountains, or at the shore of life, there will be...always is...someone who can teach you the Word, who's outcome of life you need to consider and whose faith you need to imitate.

A dear friend of my Mother's years ago said to me she was so excited because she was having an affair.............with Jesus.  After the initial shock, and confusion, I could see her love, and his love for her.  She had indeed been blessed...with a rich faith, a loving family, all needs met.  She spoke the Word of God in due season and I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  There was the wonderful little old mother from the Baptist Church in a small town that embraced me.  The Mother of the church years later whom I'd have been lost without at the time and still....both women spoke and continue to speak the word of God to me.  And there have been, and continue to be, many others in season and out who I can clearly see the outcome of their way of life in God, and, whose faith I can finally say I imitate.  See who has touched your life and dwell in thought of whether you are that kind of person or not.  If not, make some better choices, start taking some deep steps to follow him...and imitate them.  And be ready to receive the blessings of peace, contentment, solidarity with those who have gone before you and those who walk still.

There is so much 'out there' in the name of God that has nothing what so ever to do with God.  And so many preach 'text out of context making it pre-text'.  In otherwords, it doesn't have the accurate meaning so it doesn't exist as text.  If what you hear does not align with what the scriptures are saying within the paragraph, it is not what God intended.  Be careful.  Search the scriptures if you are confused.  I've spoken about this before.  If someone reads you the scriptures and says "But that's not what it says, folks.", you MUST reread it for yourself, but pray first that Holy Spirit will open your heart and mind to HIS truth of what he would have you to know.  Use discernment.  Haven't got it yet?  Better ask him for it!

Paul says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He tells us to not be attracted by strange new ideas.  Oh, and there is a lot.  And that our spiritual strength come from God's special favor...grace...not from ceremonial foods.  Now here's a thought.  The non-traditionalist's might focus on this being the communion bread and wine.  The traditionalists might focus this on the Jewish precept that some food is okay and others are not.  Pigs vs. lambs for instance...or plants.  It seems I've reversed the roles here, but think about it....if you always believed one way, you would say the other way is the 'other' way.  Like some foods from a biblically historical perspective were important to salvation.  But with the New Testament, we are taught that all foods are meant for our food, and that none have an effect on our soul except...only the spiritual food from God....the Word.

Paul says that we have an altar from which the priests in the Temple on earth have no right to eat.  Our altar is Jesus.  And the Temple priests could not receive the food he gave for they were not saved.

Jewish priests were ceremonial, much like the traditions in the 'mainline churches'.  In the Temples, they sacrificed animals for sin and tossed their carcasses outside the temple camps leaving them as unworthy creatures.  (I haven't seen this done in a mainline church, by the way, but many of our traditions come from the Jewish Temple traditions in the mainline churches.)  "Christ suffered and died outside the city gates in order to make his people holy by shedding his own blood" for our sins.  He lived and bore disgrace outside the camp to show the world it is not our home, and we should look forward to our city in heaven, yet to come.  No one and nothing needs to be sacrificed again because Christ did it once....for all....when he died on a cross and shed his blood for us in death.

Let our sacrifice be one of praise to God with Jesus' help.  Let us proclaim the glory of his name!  Paul tells us,  "Don't forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God."  Can you do good?  Probably.  Will it be pleasing to God?  Not if you are continuing to sin in any area of your life.  Is anybody perfect?  No.  But are you knowingly...consciously sinning?  Are you denying your sin because you are doing good in other areas of your life?  Are you justifying your sin because someone sinned against you first?  "Wait", you say, "Weren't you talking about doing good?"  Yes, I was...I am.  I am also trying to clean the vessel, because clean cannot come from dirty.  Good cannot come from bad.  So now you are telling me self-righteously that you are clean and you do good.  Ok.  So what else are you doing?  In denial maybe?  No maybe about it.  Make your life right....now....or suffer the consequences.  I heard you laugh.  Get yourself right with God.  So you can offer real help to others, do good, share what you have with those in need.  It is not a sacrifice if you are just doing it because you are supposed to or feel you have to.  And it won't be pleasing to God unless it is.  And however will you praise God if you don't have Jesus?  We are not going to cycle back to the part where you say you have Jesus.  Those of you who say you do and really don't.  I am going to address those who really do have Christ in their life and are living right.  You shall be called the Promise Children.  And your sacrifices will indeed be pleasing to God.

To those who listen, "obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say", Paul says.  He goes on to say, "Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God.  Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow.  That would certainly not be for your benefit."  'Listen up', those who listen to me as one who is to guide you and help you and watch over your souls....I will only continue to watch over your souls if you are looking up at the ever living ever loving God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  Like Jesus, if you choose not to receive the message, I shall dust off my feet and move on.  There are actually people on earth who yearn for the word of God, to be filled, forgiven of their sins, and have a new and everlasting life with the Lord and Savior of the world.  I will not camp on your doorstep and beg for you to choose to receive him, or be healed, nor will he.  But I will be there for you when you are ready once you have heard, received, and are willing to act on the word of God.  It would not be to your benefit to grieve God or me.

"Pray for us", Paul says, "for our conscience to be clear".  Those of us in Christ want to live honorably in everything we do.  As Paul says for himself, "I especially need your prayers right now so that I can come back to you soon."  Lest you be concerned that I am going somewhere, I am not.  However, with my server not letting me into the internet, I do need your prayers right now to insure I can continue the word in every season.  In the meantime, everyone is continually being tempted by Satan.  It's his job.  So indeed pray for me, that my conscience will be clear always, that I will live honorable in everything I do and that I will not ever leave you.

As Paul closes he says, as do I, "May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing his will.  May he produce in you through the power of Jesus Christ, all that is pleasing to him.  Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep by an everlasting covenant, signed with his blood,.  To him be glory forever and ever.   Amen.

Paul goes on to tell us that Timothy is out of jail...this is significant....because he then goes on to say he will bring him to see the others.  It is significant because it provides hope and belief.  He believes Timothy wasn't tarnished in jail, and there is hope for Timothy because he is still to be embraced.  It gives us all a hope for a new life and a new future.  But only if we do not continually sin.  That is the reprobate mind that God will not receive, even if that person has tried to return.  So please, consider carefully what I have been telling you these last few weeks as we've studied in Hebrews.  Now is the time...and the time is short....to turn back to God and turn from your sins.  Today is the day, the hour is now, the minutes on the clock are ticking.

Just like Paul, I say, "Give my greetings to all your leaders and to the other believers there.  The Christians from Italy send you their greetings.  How wonderful that back then, all the churches who preached Jesus' message, knew his love, and followed in his ways, loved each other!  Wouldn't it be great if we could all become one in him?

"I urge you brothers and sisters, please listen carefully to what I have said in this brief letter."

"May God's grace be with you all."

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, get me through this life...so that I can enter your arms....and have everlasting life.  But I don't want to just live, I want to live victoriously in and with you!  Help me make better choices, the right choices, as given me in your Word.  Help me not sin or cause others to sin.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Help me go to those I have sinned against and ask their forgiveness.  And help me forgive myself.  Now, help me forgive them in case they have sinned against me.  And Father, please for give them, too.  I've made a mess of things in my life and I have tried to justify my actions.  No if, ands, or buts, about it, although I don't want to admit I have been wrong, I have.  But I don't want to change things because that is uncomfortable  for me.  Oh, I heard you, Lord.  It would be more uncomfortable in hell. I'm sorry.  I don't think of others, only myself.  I try to pretend I think of what is best for others, but really I am still just manipulating things, so that I won't be uncomfortable myself, and I wil have all my needs met.  Yes, Lord, that is really pretty selfish.  I guess I've never really looked at things your way before fully.  And yes, Lord, it is wrong to live in sin and not marry, but I don't want to marry.  Yes, Lord, I know that I don't want to marry because then I won't be able to have who I want when I want, but that is not fair to you, the person I live with, or others.  But hey, I thought you'd understand.  I guess you don't.  Sorry, Lord.  The Minister has been telling me it is wrong, but I just ignore it.  I guess I kept thinking it's no big deal because no one knows from one church to the next what I am doing.  But you know and that is what really matters.  So I guess I better make some better choices.  I guess more people see through me than I thought.  I'm angry.  I don't want to change.   I like my life right now.  I heard you...you said, "And you're gonna like it in hell, too, then."  Guess I'll have to take my chances or change.  I'll think about it and get back to you.  I know...I know....I"ve heard it before....my time may come before the end times.  Ok.  I'll make an effort to do all things right, only I don't think I'll be happy.  I heard you, you said, " You won't know til you make those changes."  I know you are the God of life and good things.  I've been preaching you for years to others, but tho' I've tried talking to the Preacher....well.... I guess she understands me better than I thought, because she has been preaching a blue streak, too, and I know she is right, but I sure don't want to listen....to either of you.  But I guess I better stop deluding myself and others and get life right.  Ok.  I'll do it.  I sure hope you forgive me and help me get back on track. It won't be pretty otherwise, and I may just fall and sin some more, again.  But aren't you the God who forgives?  Oh, "Not all.", you say?  Oh oh.  Reprobate minds, people who continually sin and know they do, don't get forgiven?  Would you be talking to me, Lord?  Yes?  Oh.  Oh my goodness.  Ok.  Well, I guess I better get on board.  Help me.  Help me like you help all the others.  Integrate my mind to be constant for you, Lord.  And help me be who I need to be for you and myself and then others.  Lead me by the paths of righteousness, not falseness like I have been living.  And finally lead me beside still waters of peace.  Ok, I commit my life to you again, right now, right here, and ask you to forgive me of my sins, and give me a new life in you and with you.  Don't leave my side because this will be one hek of a ride.  I'm ashamed, and I have a lot to atone for.  Thank you, God,  Jesus and Holy Spirit for helping me.  Yes, I'll thank the Minister, too.  I owe you both a lot.  Yes, I'll give you my life....like you gave me yours.  Thank you, Lord.  I will show you my gratitude by the right choices I will now make and continue to make.  I'm sorry.  And thank you again for forgiving me and giving me another chance.  Oh, this is the last chance???!!!  Are you serious, Lord?!  That's scary.  Ok.  Here I am, Lord.  I will praise you, Lord.  Thank you.  I love you.  Help me!  Amen.

More love....

  Benediction...Blessing

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.

Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT

  Our Current Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, or animals, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member of, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.

Please accept my sincerest thanks....and God's....and may God richly bless you!

  One last thing....

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
