 Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son

and

Holy Spirit the Comforter, Teacher and Healer.

We believe that God made the heavens and the earth,

and gave all creatures His son, Jesus,

who died on the cross to forgive our sins

 and

to give us eternal life.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, he is now seated at God’s right hand,

 and

that God gave us Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth.  He gave us His Son, who died on a cross to allow our sins to be forgiven and give us eternal life becoming our Lord and Savior.  When Jesus died, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1:1

Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3

Holy Spirit:  John 15:26

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity into your life and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Please come into my life, heal me and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you to love you, and others, as you love me.  So I can love myself.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who I call ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.”

John

Believe!

One of the disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came.  They told him, "We have seen the Lord!"  But he replied, "I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side."

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them.  The doors were locked, but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them.  He said, "Peace be with you."  Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands.  Put your hand into the wound in my side.  Don't be faithless any longer.  Believe!"

"My Lord and my God!  Thomas exclaimed.

The Jesus told him, "You believe be cause you have seen me.  Blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway."

He's Alive!

Later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples beside the Sea of Galilee.  This is how it happened.  Several of the disciples were there--Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples.

Simon Peter said, "I'm going fishing."

"We'll come, too." they all said.  So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night.

At dawn the disciples saw Jesus standing on the beach, but they couldn't see who he was.  He called out, "Friends, have you caught any fish?"

"No", they replied.

Then he said, "Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you'll get plenty of fish!"  So they did, and they couldn't draw in the net because there were so many fish in it.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!"  When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and swam ashore.  The others stayed with the boat and pulled the loaded net to the shore, for they were only out about three hundred feet.  When they got there, they saw that a charcoal fire was burning and fish were frying over it, and there was bread.

"Bring some of the fish you've just caught," Jesus said.  So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore.  There were 153 large fish, and yet the net hadn't torn.

"Now come and have some breakfast!" Jesus said.  And no one dared ask him if he really was the Lord because they were sure of it.  Then Jesus served them the bread and the fish.  This was the third time Jesus had appeared to his disciples since he had been raised from the dead.

You...

After breakfast Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?"

"Yes, Lord." Peter replied, "you know I love you."

"Then feed my lambs."  Jesus told him.

Jesus repeated the question:  "Simon son of John, do you love me?

"Yes, Lord," Peter said, "you know I love you."

"Then take care of my sheep."  Jesus said.

Once more he asked him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"

Peter was grieved that Jesus asked the question a third time.  He said, "Lord, you know everything.  You know I love you."

Jesus said, "then feed my sheep.  The truth is, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked and go wherever you wanted to.  But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will direct you and take you where you don't want to go."  Jesus said this to let him know what kind of death he would die to glorify God.  Then Jesus told him, "Follow me."

Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them--the one who had leaned over to Jesus during supper and asked, "Lord, who among us will betray you?"  Peter asked Jesus, "What about him, Lord?"

Jesus relied, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?"

(Bold emphasis by me.)

Thoughts...

Just a few thoughts today...call it a 3 part harmony, if you will.

Believe!  He's Alive!

Can you believe....here is a guy who these people saw die a violent death on a cross, buried, whose body showed up missing, who had descended into hell, and now, after a couple other appearances, he shows up again.....alive in a new way still (appearance changed...wouldn't you be changed after you had gone through all he went through...and holes from his death attack still apparent)...able to eat fish.  I can't stand fish, so why he would choose to eat that makes me wonder if I am indeed my 'Father's daughter'.....laugh.  Put yourself into the shoes of these people.  I'd be like, "Dude!  This is a little freaky."  My eyes would be mighty big, I'm thinking.  And yet, here I am today, and I so embrace my Lord now.  I would be enraptured to see him.  Jesus tells us, "Don't be faithless any longer.  Believe!  Blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway."  Do you realize HOW blessed you could be by just believing in him?   What peace!  Believe!

I have to laugh at one of the things Peter said.  He said, "It is the Lord!"  I'm sure his emphasis is on 'Lord'.  But it reminds me of the M&M guys and Santa Claus commercial where they say, "He is alive!"  And Santa says, "They do exist!"  Consider it.  We say, "He IS alive".  And the Lord says, "Those who believe in me DO exist!  How sad that he has to search so far...so wide...to find people who believe in him.  Sadder still that he still has to tell us what to do, that we haven't matured as Christians.

You....

Jesus keeps asking Simon Peter, if he loves him.  He is impressing upon him the importance of feeding his lambs and his sheep.  In the first question, he refers to 'these'...do you love me more than 'these'.  I picture Jesus pointing to the people who surround him.  A warning perhaps to keep his position in perspective...don't let ego get in the way of placing emphasis on the LORD...insure it is the LORD people come to see and hear about THROUGH Simon Peter....not Simon Peter himself.  The lambs, I believe, refers to those who don't know Jesus or who are new in Christ.  Then Jesus tells him to feed his sheep, who are those learning more and those more mature in Christ.  He puts Simon Peter in a position of authority telling him to plant the seeds, but then to water them, and then nurture them for growth.  He gives him a heads up that he will be led by God, Jesus himself, and Holy Spirit as to where he will go and what he will do, as a willing believer and follower to glorify the Lord.  Although it states that Jesus said this to let him know what kind of death he would die to glorify God, I believe Jesus spoke out of his own experience, sharing the depth of what real love is in following God.  It would be a good death as opposed to dying a sinners death with Satan.  You...might want to follow Jesus, plant seeds for him, water those seeds and nurture them for growth.  It is what we are called to do as believers.

Jesus gave him another heads up.  He was not to be jealous or conceited, or concern himself with how another follows, or leads, or lives for and with Jesus.  His focus was to be on Jesus and the people God sends him...period.  No backstabbing.  No one saying, 'my way is better than your way.'  The truth is, all paths that lead to Jesus are the right way.  I tell people all the time, "What ever path takes you to Jesus, that is the right path for you."  I don't care what their/your church or religion is called.  All I care is that they know who Jesus is, that he is, and how wonderful he is....and what they/you can have for and with him...as they/you obey the Trinity....Father/God, Jesus/Lord and Savior, Holy Spirit/Comforter and Teacher.  I also say, it does not matter when 'the end time' occurs.  It matters when 'YOUR end time occurs'.  Do you love him?

Will you go to heaven?  Will you have eternal life?  Will your spirit live on?  Or are you believing as the Doors said,  "This is the end, my only friend, the end."?  If this life has been so painful that you will be grateful when it is over and you are saying to yourself, "Why go through this again?"  I assure you, what is to come is NOTHING compared to what you have lived.  Some of your life is your fault, some is the result of others 'doing unto you', not...I will mention....as the Lord intended. Choices.  Life is all about choices.  Will you make a better choice for your life?  Will you take the time to learn about all God, Jesus and Holy Spirit have to offer you?  First, you just have to believe they exist.  Then you have to believe in them and learn who they are as people.  Love at first sight does exist.  It happened for thousands upon thousands upon just hearing about Jesus and for those seeing him.  Will it happen for you?   Consider taking some time to read the information at the top of this page again.  Then, take some time to read one of the factual accounts of Jesus' life by one of the 4 guys who gave us the most written info to date on Jesus, who knew him and walked with him when he was alive.  They would be Matthew, Mark, Luke or John and their books are in the first part of the New Testament of the Bible....towards the last 1/3 of the whole book.  And Acts was written by Luke and gives a factual account of the growth of the Christian church.

I hope you will seriously consider all God, Jesus and Holy Spirit have to offer you.   And how much you have to offer them.  I will pray for you...that you will have life and have it abundantly!

Let Us Pray

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I am not too sure about you guys yet.  I have some things to think about and maybe to learn before I can make a decision whether you are right for me or not.  But, out of respect, I will check some things out.  I know that I have to go to the source of the truth...the Bible...and not to some other faction or research interest to learn the facts.  I will make an attempt...no, I will go ahead and do this, and then I will let you know whether I think you are real or not.  Well, I guess I won't actually let you know if I think you are not, how can I?  But I will give you consideration.  It sure opens up a lot of questions for me, if you are.  Science, and life and death and everything.  I'm not sure I want to have a life such as I've had, so if you are real and you can offer more, maybe I'll take you up on your offer.  Certainly would be a good adventure to learn more about something else.  Based on what I've read so far, I can't be hurt by it...too much.  I've already been hurt a lot.  I may be hurt for deciding to believe in something else by nature of ridicule, but, I know what that is like...I seem to be the duck with a slippery back...and some days....not.  I'll check those things out and stay tuned to this site now and then to see if there really is something to you.  I kind of don't want to have been wrong all these years, but on the other hand, I'd like to be fully right in life.  So, send me people to help me understand more, and then I'll decide if I want you as my Lord and Savior, and whether I'll obey you or not.  I hope I don't have to give up too much.  I'm not perfect you know, but I have been pretty caring and loving and supportive.  I want those Christians to know I can be as nice as they are.  That they are not the only ones that can act good.  But maybe you can help me with my imperfections....do I have any?  Yes, I let people hurt me and control me.  I guess that may not be good in your world.  And I can hurt them, too.  There may be something to you, if I have fought all these years to be as good as 'the Christians'.  Sure are alot of people that call themselves Christian.  I sure hope I don't have to hurt people like some of them do.  I don't think that that is what your ideal is.  I think people use you to justify their wrong actions.  Gee, I don't have anyone to blame but myself.  Maybe I could use you.  Well, I shouldn't use you like that....that's negative. Anyway, the fact that I am still talking to you either makes me nuts or partially acknowledging you.  Either way, I better shut up til I know more.  Is this where I am supposed to say amen?  Amen just in case.

If you are wandering and wondering, you can ask God, Jesus and Holy Spirit to show you what you need to know and to send others in to your life to help you along the way.  Just ask them:

"God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I'd like to know the truth about you.  Please help me find the answers I am seeking and send others to help me along the way.  Thank you.  Amen."

  Our Current Cause

We have a family in crisis who could desperately use your prayers and support.  The Mom, a good Christian woman, is young still...she just turned 50, and she has 3 young children under 15.  She has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  Her husband died 3 years ago from Cancer, and her Mother, who has her own health issues, is trying to care for her and her children and help her along life's way.  They do not have enough money to meet their everyday expenses right now.  But I am confident that, with your help, we can find some balance for them.  If this touches your heart, we hope you will pray earnestly for her to be healed, and pray for her family.  And, if you would, please send any amount of money you can to help them.  Please note 'Elizabeth and kids' in your note line on your check and we will see that all funds go directly to them.  Please consider reaching out to help them.  I know they will be sincerely grateful for anything you can do to help.

Please accept our sincerest thanks....and may God bless you.

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

'The Unforced Rythms of Grace'

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
