 Who We Are

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christian church.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son

and

Holy Spirit the Comforter, Teacher and Healer.

We believe that God made the heavens and the earth,

and gave all creatures His son, Jesus,

who died on the cross to forgive our sins

 and

to give us eternal life.

We believe Jesus went to heaven, he is now seated at God’s right hand,

 and

that God gave us Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.

Who are God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

God is our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth.  He gave us His Son, who died on a cross to allow our sins to be forgiven and give us eternal life becoming our Lord and Savior.  When Jesus died, Holy Spirit was made available to us to comfort, teach and guide us.

God in the beginning:  Genesis 1:1

Jesus:  Matthew 1, 2 & 3

Holy Spirit:  John 15:26

Are you one with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit?

If you have not accepted the Trinity into your life and you would like to, pray this prayer or use your own words from your heart:

“Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, please forgive me of my sins known and unknown.  Please come into my life, heal me and make me whole.  Give me a new life in and with you.  I wish to receive all that you have to give.  Baptize me in the fullness of your Holy Spirit, so that I can learn all I can about you to love you, and others, as you love me.  So I can love myself.  Thank you for giving me this new life.  Please send other Christians to surround me to help me grow and be strong to defeat Satan and the things of the world.  Help me to be worthy of your love.  Thank you God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name I pray by and with the power of the Holy Spirit to dear Heavenly Father God.  Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, please email us at TrinityMissions@msn.com, so we can agree with you in prayer, praise God, and uplift you with prayer support.  We are thrilled to welcome you into the family of believers and encourage you to find a church home nearby where you can study, grow and fellowship with others.  Someone may need your support as much as you need them.  We are commanded to come together in fellowship to worship His majesty.

If you choose to fellowship with us via the web, we are honored to welcome you to the Church of the Holy Spirit.  We pray you will be enriched and uplifted in the fullness of the Trinity to their glory.  Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing from time to time.  As the website grows, we will have a special page for this purpose, and, you will be able to list prayers for all to see, so that we may come together as a body of believers, for ‘wherever two or more shall gather, there will I be.’   Don’t forget to send prayers of thanksgiving, as well as petitions of tears.

You are who I call ‘The Promise Children’, as in Romans 9:25-26 NLT:

“Those who were not my people, I will now call my people.  And I will love those whom I did not love before.  And, once they were told, ‘You are not my people.’  But now he will say, ‘You are children of the living God.”

“The Kingdom of God is near you now.”

The Apostle Paul gave us a “Prayer for Spiritual Empowerment” in Ephesians 3:14-21 NLT.  It reads

“When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it.  Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.  May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.  Amen.”

Jesus told us to remain in his love in John 15:9-13 NLT:

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.  Remain in my love.  When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!  I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you.  And here is how to measure it - the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends.”

Matthew 10:33

Are You Denying Him?

Matthew

"If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will openly ackowledge that person before my Father in heaven.  But if anyone denies me here on earth, I will deny that person before my Father in heaven."

Thoughts...

We walk a fine line in life sometimes.  If we walk with someone who is not a Christian, we may offend them, if we speak of our Lord.  We are concerned that we might upset some people if we honor our Lord.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to show the interior of a church to an Atheist.  I have no idea if they had ever been in a church.  I showed them Jesus at the assumption and on the cross.  It did not even dawn on me to tell them why he was there or more of the story.  Or that he was present there in the body and the blood as well as in spirit.  I showed them Mary and St. Joseph and St. Anthony.  The Last Supper was portrayed.  We were on a Historical Tour and the church was on the registry.

I later reflected that I had perhaps denied my Lord, for which I prayed earnestly with grief for forgiveness at that moment.  I justified it saying that I did not want to offend them.  In doing so, I had offended my Lord, and Mary, for not having honored them.  I wondered if perhaps I was concerned I would be denied, or they would laugh at my Lord.  Or me.  Shame on me for thinking thus, but I needed to know and understand my motivation or lack of it.  I needed to know if perhaps I would be now denied.

I did have opportunity as the church was empty.  I did feel excitement to share.  So did my Lord and Mary stop me, or, was it I who stopped myself?  Or was Satan there to derail?  Sometimes we don't know for sure.  This time, I felt in retrospect, my opportunity was one of seed planting.  To tell an Atheist that the host is the body and the wine is the blood as it says in scripture, might repulse them.  Not a desired result.  To overtell the story at the onset, might make them think I am trying to force them into something.  Our God is the God who gives us free will.  We can choose him, or not choose him.   He wants us to accept him with love and affection.  To have that passion lit by a spark.  I am a spark giver.  A seed planter.  I do not always get to harvest.  I do get to water, and sometimes, I get to watch people blossom and grow.  Kind of hard on the internet when no one contacts me.  (Hint, hint, hint.)

I believe, not because I want to, but because I took the situation to my Lord and Mary in prayer, that I did miss an opportunity in showing the fullness of my joy and the passion I have for them both...the oneness.  I missed an opportunity to tell the barest of essentials:  He lived, he died and he did this for them.  Consider it.   I missed an opportunity to bow down before him or kneel in prayer to honor him.  But in my heart, I was doing that by my living testimony of being there for that person.  They would not have gotten out of the house, on the open road, had a friend of Jesus' to share the day with.  They would not have been able to see the church, enter in, have doors opened on their heart or mind or had snippets of information to consider, go back to, or look at.  They have now seen what Jesus looks like, and Mary, too.  They have had the opportunity to see that it is safe to enter a chruch.  And they have seen it is safe to be with a friend of Jesus who will care for and about them as he does.  Being respectful and caring and going the extra mile.  Literally....the historical tour was out of town.

I do feel some guilt for not sharing a bit more, and for not praying in worship and praising him outwardly while I was there.  I am grateful my Lord and Mary forgave me when I asked for forgiveness.  I am grateful they will be by my side forevermore.  I am grateful I am able to share this story with you, to give you opportunity for pause in thought, that you might not do as I have done, but do as Jesus calls us to do...not deny him.  And do as I have done in publicly acknowledging him here on earth, so he will openly acknowledge you before your Father in heaven.  And don't forget to pray for forgiveness when you err.  He does forgive.  Just don't make it a habit.  He did say, 'go and sin no more'.  Realistic?  Perhaps not, but should it be our reality and our ideal goal?  Absolutely.

I hated to leave the church...and I wanted to run to the church...because I knew my Lord and Mary were there.  Are they are also here with me now?  Yes.  As they can be for you, if they are not already.  Please take this opportunity to talk to Jesus and Mary.  Ask Jesus to come into your heart of hearts and forgive you of your sins.  Ask Mary to come in, too.  They can and will be with you always.

The Apostle Paul said "If we die with him, we will also live with him.  If we endure hardship, we will reign with him.   If we deny him, he will deny us.  If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself."

What this means is that if we give up our life and bury our past sins with Jesus, we will have a new life with Jesus.  If we endure hardship [while for and with him], we will go and be with him in heaven.  As Jesus and Paul say, if we deny Jesus, Jesus will deny telling God about us and we will not be accepted by God.  If we are unfaithful, don't obey, don't share his love in us with others, don't do for others as he has done for us [receiving, forgiving, loving and offering new life], he can't do the same for us.  IF he is IN us, he cannot deny us, for he is in us...hence he cannot deny himself.  Ask him into your life today.  Receive him, ask forgivenss, love him and let him love you.  Let him give you this new life today.  And don't deny him......so he won't deny you before Father God in heaven.

Let Us Pray

Dear Heavenly Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  I am a Christian.  Please forgive me for not fully sharing all that you are and all that you can be to others.  I am not a Christian.  Please come into my heart today and forgive me of my sins.  Take my hand and lead me on.  Show me how to receive, forgive, love, and give.  Show me all about you, and help me to not be ashamed of you, or that you are in me.  Help me to always and forevermore share you...who you are, that you are, and how wonderful you are.  Help me realize that in seeking to not offend another, I walk a fine line and could offend you.  Help me discern what is best by giving me your Holy Spirit, who will help me further, by understanding all you have for me to know through your word and through hearing all you have to tell me.  Dear Mary, if you have not already come into my life, will you please come into my life and be my spiritual Mother to guide and direct me as well?  You always point the way to your son, Jesus.  You are the voice of reason.  When I am not sure if the voice I hear in my heart is Jesus, or the devil, Satan, I will be able to hear you.  He cannot mimmick your voice, Mary, or your spirit.  Be with me always and when the time comes and Jesus calls me to heaven to be with him, go with me, take my hand, so I will not fear.  Thank you for being with me.  I pray you all will lead me now...God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and Mary to a new life in and with you.  Help me to help others find you and run to you with passion, excitement and joy in reverence.  I keep hearing the song by the Beatles, 'Let It Be' running through my head....what was it they said, "In my times of [?], Mother Mary comes to me.....(I am?) seeking words of wisdom, (Does she say?) let it be, let it be."  Scripture gives us the wisdom.  The Trinity also, and Mary, as they come into our hearts.  So we can all say....Amen.

  Our Current Cause

We have a family in crisis who could desperately use your prayers and support.  The Mom, a good Christian woman, is young still...she just turned 50, and she has 3 young children under 15.  She has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  Her husband died 3 years ago from Cancer, and her Mother, who has her own health issues, is trying to care for her and her children and help her along life's way.  They do not have enough money to meet their everyday expenses right now.  But I am confident that, with your help, we can find some balance for them.  If this touches your heart, we hope you will pray earnestly for her to be healed, and pray for her family.  And, if you would, please send any amount of money you can to help them.  Please note 'Elizabeth and kids' in your note line on your check and we will see that all funds go directly to them.  Please consider reaching out to help them.  I know they will be sincerely grateful for anything you can do to help.

Please accept our sincerest thanks....and may God bless you.

  One last thing....

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving

"The Unforced Rythms of Grace"

"Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer:  "Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth.  You've concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people.  Yes, Father, that's the way you like to work."

Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly.  "The Father has given me all these things to do and say.  This is a unique Father - Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge.  No one know the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.  But I'm not keeping it to myself; I'm ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen."

"Are you tired?  Worn out?  Burned out on religion?  Come to me.  Get away with me and you'll recover your life.  I'll show you how to take a real rest.  Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it.  Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.  I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn how to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:  25-30

  The Message

And the people said,

"Amen."

I now write most prayers in the position of ' I ' (first person) because most people are sitting at their computer alone, not in groups, and it allows those reading and praying to personalize the prayer as coming from them going to God.  Variations may appear on holidays when families may wish to use the prayer provided.
